Canucks 22-23
The Schenn deal is fine whether on not the Flames will be buyers is another question. The Kings deal is absolutely garbage for the Canucks he has three more years @5 for Jordan Spence no thank you. Rather keep Garland for that price. The Boeser deal is a little rich especially with no cap coming back, one second probably gets it done.

Bro I think you need to actually watch both players and not just looks at analytics. Which you don't grasp to well because you don't seem to grasp context very well. Anybody that has watched both player knows you last comment is laughable. Don't respond I am done.

Hoglander QOC is higher than his QOT but go off. Wahlstroms. QOC and QOT are the same. Also Hoglanders WAR is 10% higher than Wahlstroms according to TopDownHockey. Wahlstroms start more shifts in the offensive zone. I think any player playing third line minutes against grade a compétition is going to have a harder time than a player that is playing fourth line minutes against third/ fourth line players. Any player with 27 even strength points in 126 games doesn't inspire confidence whoever you try to justify it. If you watch both players Hoglander is easily the more noticable and dynamic player.

Wahlstrom drives play , scores goals and generates chances at a good rate and has chemistry with Mat Barzal. He is not available for JT miller no matter what you say. Neither is Raty, he will make the isles out of camp and his D+1 was identical to Anton Lundell. Don't be mad because you're not getting him for JT miller
If he can't skate then how is he above average in transition? Interesting
Goals above replacement over the past 2 seasons:
Wahlstrom: 5.8 GAR
Hoglander: 5.6 GAR
but yeah Hoglander definitely has more value lol.</div></div>
Lol Wahlstrom played 16 more games so you just proved my point with GAR. Also Hoglander WAR is higher. He is also younger, has a better ppg. Only 4 point of Hoglander 45 have come on the pp compared 18 of Wahlstrom's 45. Dudes feasting on the pp. So I think Hoglander has more value.

Man, this site is a joke calling Wahsstrom untouchable unless Pettersson is asinine dude can't f'ing skate. Hoglander has more value, he is younger drives play better and is actually notable on the ice. A first top 5, 10 protected and Raty is fair value. He is not a top 10, even 20 prospect just because your prospect pool sucks and he is your only good prospect does not mean he had tremendous value. You might not want to trade him and I get that but let's not be ridiculous.

Don't think Zadorov is worth anything close to that. Needs to be qualified at 4.25 million in flat cap world that is no attractive to many teams. Also was not good in the playoffs, and could probably be had for free when Colorado doesn't qualify him.

Keeping The Core Another Year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dave31</b></div><div>Virtanen and Demko are each worth 2nds for sure, I 100% agree. You could probably flip Merkley somewhere and get two 2nds for him alone because right now no position has more value than an offensive RHD. You can keep looking at his "off ice issues" if you want but nothing in that realm has even come up in a long time, his coach has even been saying great things about his attitude recently. The fact is that he was the 2nd highest scoring defenseman in the OHL at 19 years old, anyone looking for a young RHD would be crazy not to see the massive value in that. But again, by all means, Id gladly trade you the 2nd round picks instead and keep Merkley if that got it done because most sharks fans are telling me its a big overpay on our part to include Merkley</div></div>
Yeah I agree with you I just don't think Merkley will become a top 4 dman. For Sharks fan who think he will become a top pairing guy or top 4 dman at worst it's an over payment. It just depends on your evaluation of Merkely. Maybe I undervalue Merkely because I haven't seen him much this year and watched him a lot last year where he wasn't that great. You are right RD is the Canuck biggest need. Honestly 80% of Canucks fans would take that deal.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dave31</b></div><div>From almost every VAN fan Ive talked to, all Ive heard is that the Canucks are looking for a young elite RHD and right now Merkley is one of the highest prospects around in that position. Cant imagine a world where you would rather get a couple 2nds for guys like Demko and Virtanen but hey if you'd rather take picks from us for them that works for me!</div></div>
Virtanen was basically on pace for 20 goals and 40 points is young and controlled for a couple more years won't get a second round pick okay. Demko yeah he hasn't performed up to his potential but the potential he has could easily get second 2nd. Yeah I would rather have 3 second round picks than Merkley that wouldn't fit on the Canucks and has a ton of question marks about his defensive game that is nonexistent and his off ice issues.

Yeah I think the Canucks pass. Gambrell doesn't make our team with Gaudette and Beagle. Virtanen and Demko could each bring back an second. Merkely is not he dman we are looking for we have Hughes and Rathbone that are in the same vein as Merkley. Canuck aren't trading Virtanen Gaudette and a 2nd for Merkley and spare parts the Canucks don't need this only saves the canucks around two million if Gambrell makes the team. Just terrible value as Merkley also has questions about his attitude.

He is actually right Benn is trade-able he is making 2 million dollars for one year. Probably trade 6th for Benn and 5th. Sven might mutually terminate his contract than be stuck in the AHL for another year which in the end might be the end of his career so it would be a smart long term play. So, if we trade Benn and put Sven in the Ahl we trade a first to get of 2.25 million dollars I don't think so.

I don't think Tanev is coming back unless he takes a home town discount. Tanev might get 2*4.5. I don't think he is on the team next year tho. I think Toffoli will get 5*.5.25.

No matter what, a valuable asset would have to go the other way in this deal.</div></div>
Honestly I don't think he needs to be traded but I could see him being traded to a team like Florida who's owner want to cut salary. Something like Stralman for Eriksson (1 million retained )makes sense. It saves Florida like 10 million dollars over the next two years. Stralman would then get bought out and save the Canucks 3.5 million against the cap in 2020.

Canucks are not trading Hoglander. Toffoli is not signing for 2 years. Whys is Tanev getting 5 years? Also terrible trade for the Canucks you actually only save 750,000 on the cap if Eriksson buried in the Ahl this year and 3.5 million the next year if Eriksson is bought out. So, even without the trade the Canucks will be under the cap and next summer Eriksson will be bought and only cost 4 million against the cap and 1 million the next. Next year their will be a lot contract coming off the books and the Canucks should have room to sign Pettersson and Hughes pretty easily.
