Huberdeau, Stone, Marner, Point, Chabot and possibly Hall are all maybes.

I would also think Holtby would supplant Price given his recent past performances.

Last year :
Price 35-24-6 918 2.49 in front of an middle of the pack team and a shaky defense
Holtby 32-19-5 911 2.82 in front of a containder team caliber with a good defense
That is only last year and stats dont tell everything but IMO price he still ahead of Holtby
I have to say Holtby was one of the main the reason they won the cup last year.

I don't think there is a better faceoff man in the league. And I'm not even close to being a boston fan.

I agree, I’d rather have him taking a face off than prob anyone. But that’s it. He’s not a top 5 Canadian center, that’s for sure

teams are built as a whole. It's why McDavid would never be the top center for a canadian team. I don't care what you say about it. He can't win a face off for **** and it's a huge advantage in the game.
You win the face off, you get possession, and everything else goes easier. Which is why Bergeron who has never been a top 5 over all center in the league has always made the canadian team.
Because when you have to win the puck, he's the guy.

I understand the importance of possession and winning the face off. Personally, I’d still put Crosby over him just bc of his defense. But I mean come on, it’s not his fault he’s having to do everything. Alex chiasson was his top line winger last year!! The oilers don’t have anything around him on offense besides rnh and draisaitl, so yeah he’s spending more time focusing on offense than defense. Like you said, teams are built as a whole. Bergeron has the luxury of having 2 of the best wingers in the league on his line, plus 3 more lines that are really good w a solid defense and a Vezina-level goalie. McDavid has 2 other good forwards 2 good d-men and that’s it??

But 2 other forwards aren't going to help McDavid win a faceoff, and that's the point there. He's a low 40% guy.
Bergeron eats him for breakfast at the dot. You build teams to win, and its those kind of details that make the difference. You can bring a ton of other good players on a team. But you have to bring some people who are frankly specialists in some sense. Specialists, PK guys, etc...
