This would be a horrible move for the flames. Keeping hamonic and signing shatty at 2m or less might work.

Which is why its mind blowing to me that so many people on here want to sign him. Even with sheltered zone starts last year he was awful, yet some think he's able to be a top pairing d-man for them.

The cost to get rid of him trade-wise would have been a 1st+probably a good prospect. Steep price to pay.

I wonder if the coyotes would want shatty. thier coach has experience with difficult players and as far as ive read, he is difficult to coach.

he's a 3rd pairing D, but his partner needs to be a defensive stud. i think he can be on the first pairing PP, but for sure on the 2nd pp

I'm sure he could be a service PP guy, although IDK that I'd want him on my #1 unit. I'd be concerned that his S% has dropped year over year since being traded to Washington. He would 100% need a defensive minded partner though.

Ya, I think its understandable. Its not like Shatts was a bad guy on/off the ice. I think the saddest part is just how quickly he fell off. He was a 40+ point d-man and coming off a career year with 56 points and then goes back to back years with sub 30pt seasons.

Trouba, Fox, D'Angelo down the right side. He became expendable once Trouba was acquired and signed.

Not at all serious about this, I was just curious what the consensus was since I've seen him play a lot when he was with the Avs/Blues and always thought he was a solid player.

Seems like things are going downhill though and I'd much rather have ice time for the younger guys.

If he was still as good as I've seen him in the past, I'd want the Flames to jump on this opportunity.
