Also why is the return Tampa is getting for Cernak better than the return the Wild are getting for Dumba?

Every Wild fan when trading Spurgeon to the Leafs for Nylander or Marner. "He's our best defenceman and he'll be good for years!".

When someone trades Dumba for Marner or Nylander, "why would the wild trade their best defenceman for those guys?"

So whoever is being traded is the best defenceman always?

Or... the Wild just have really good defencemen that will probably not be traded for the scraps that Leafs fans are offering on AGMs. Do you see Marner or Nylander anywhere in this trade? Or did you mean to send this to someone else?

I am not commenting on this trade, although Fenton would have gone for it lol, more so on the idiosyncrasy of Wild fans on here. So many of them have said from both sides of their mouth, that Spurgeon and Dumba are both the best defenceman on the team depending on who is being offered in a trade. Ask any Leaf fan and they'll say Rielly is the best defenceman on the team, regardless of who is being discussed in a trade.

Barrie and Dumba are very similar in value as players. Barrie just doesn't have much term and is older, making him worth less. As a non-partisan, I don't see what everybody is freaking out about.
