Alright if you are Guerin and this is Toronto offer, you'll counter for what ? Can't be a forward roster player like Kapanen Nylander Hyman Johnsson. Trevor Moore available

I wouldn't counter it. I'd try re-signing Spurgeon first.

Spurgeon isn't getting traded for less than a 1st and a good prospect. Wild would retain some salary and maybe toss in a roster player for some extra depth for a team looking to go deep in the playoffs, but someone will give that if the Wild don't extend him.

Why trade Sturm? He's the exact type of player a rebuilding team like you're proposing here would want to have.

That Staal trade. Might be what Jets are looking for a playoff run.

Arizona is not dishing off Hayton. They went off the board for him and think he will be a good C.

No interest in Staal. Kuli only has one year left and losing yet another first isn’t worth it.

No chance ARI does that

Solid Jets trade, could honestly get more imo

Spurgeon is worth more than that, gives TOR cap space to sign Marner and a major upgrade at D

Just for the record, because I know you know this but didn't realize it until after you'd hit the "Publish" button, Spurgeon's decision on where to re-up would occur AFTER the 2020 draft.

Because you get Hayton, way better than Sturm. Arizona still need center, I know they have Schmaltz and Merkley down the pipe, but another one is needed IF ( in this case ) they trade Hayton.

2021 1st that's after 2020 draft ?

Here's the sequence:

1. 2020 draft
2. Spurgeon re-signs
3. Now what? Arizona has to transfer the player they've already drafted in order to get the Minnesota 2021 first-round pick? What if that isn't the player Minnesota wanted there?

It has to be a 2021 second.
