lmao it got leaked today... you should know that being a habs fan

I am well aware of that story. Do you really think the Montreal Canadiens with all their resources and perceived secrecy around the league, showed up to the NHL draft with their draft order hand written on a piece of paper? You must be smarter than that.

That's usually what happens when there's 20x more of them than some of the other fan bases.....

You don't hear any Arizona fans claiming Soderstrom is better than Swiss cheese but then again, you don't hear Arizona fans at all either......

yeah I get why, but doesnt mean people should pump the breaks on the kid

You can literally say that about any draft... No one knows what these players are gonna be so, people need to stop acting like they do

I agree. Caufield won’t produce like Habs fans think he will. He benefited from playing with Hughes. He won’t have that type of centre in Montreal. I doubt he’s as good as patches was for them

He's a very good prospect. I don't think that's the problem here. Its that you don't like others saying that he is, it seems.

There a million things more annoying on CF than people over exaggerating prospects. That at least is unanimously something all fan bases do.

Just like with any prospect, how can anyone say this definitively? That's why every fan base gets so hyped about prospects, precisely because no one knows.

Weirder things have happened than Caulfield, a 1st round pick who was widely regarded as one of the best goal scorers in the draft, being a prolific goal scorer.

As someone that wasn't at the table, or part of Montreal's management, I have no idea.

It could be speculated that it was their official draft list. In which with 0 hesitation that jumped up and grabbed Caufield who was ranked lower than Krebs on said list. More likely, it was a single scouts list, or their "mock draft" list of how they thought things would pan out. Either way, pretending like it was their official list is dumb, given they didn't even follow it.

ahh but he isnt 6'1.....

and every scout had him low so. Including the Habs who had him ranked at #10 so im gonna go with the pros on this one

And we all know the pros are always right, I'm mean Alex Daigle was going to be better than Lemieux and Gretzky combined as per the pros!
