Can it really work ? I really want opinions, i want to know what people think about this. Tbh, i don't think Colorado are willing to do this.

Is there a dead cap Colorado could trade instead of Grubauer ? Let's say :

Dead cap or bad contract that Col wants to trade
+
1st

D prospect

vs

Price

It would let Colorado with a Price/Grubauer duo which would be pretty good

Avs are not trading the best defense prospect not yet in the NHL for an aging goalie on a horrendous contract

No, it would be an absolutely horrible decision by Colorado. Prices ontract is about 2 yeats oit from looking pretty bad and the there are still 5 more yeats after that. The Avs have some important contracts coming up so any long term commitments to a large contract hurt them.
Im not even sure how this "rumour" started since there is no post about it on HF

So propose something, help instead of just say it's not happening

You really cant propose anything here. there is no reason for Montreal to trade Price if theyre trying to win a cup. Who will lead you in the playoffs? Kinkaid? Yikes. it doesnt make sense for montreal to trade price to any team in my opinion so I cant even give you a realistic trade here.

Agreed. This isn't a negotiation. You can't just propose a better idea that works. The entire premise is not valid. That's the problem.

I get that, people are always bashing me on here for my proposals and they don't offer solutions. Didn't mean to sound like I was bashing though - I just don't think the Avs would even want Price. I think they'll ride out the year with Grubauer and maybe trade for a younger goalie in the off-season (Georgiev, Markstrom).

You realize Price is 32 right? Goalies start to fade around the 34/35 mark and even at 9.5M, 5 more years for that is just ludicrous to consider trading for. Sure Price was exceptional in his prime but now hes just a good goalie. You dont need a S tier goalie to win the cup or do really good when you have an elite defense core. Look at Chicago a couple years ago when they won, or Carolina right now making Mrazek look like a god.

When you explain yourself like this it's like you are proposing something. I'm trying to know people opinion. I said it, it's not happening but want people opinion.

Thanks mate!

To answer, i don't think Montreal are going for a cup this year. MB should trade Tatar, Price.

Domi - Danault - Gally
Drouin - KK - Caufield
Lehkonen - Poehling - Armia
xx - xx - xx

Mete - Weber
Romanov - Petry
Kulak - Fleury/Brook

Lenher
Primeau

And we are not even considering return for Price and Tatar here

Huh? I simply said the dialogue between fans isn't a negotiation. You can't simply offer a better idea that works... Trading Price now is virtually impossible. That's the premise I'm talking about.

Avs say no. We've gotten strong goaltending with Grubauer/Francouz so why would we give up our best prospect and a 1st in a deep draft to upgrade at a position we don't need? Avs could maybe add another backup goalie in case one gets injured but there's no point in going out to get the most expensive goalie in the league. This trade is a non-starter

It was on HF, got 3 no's and was shutdown by the moderator...

It was from an article where the gmjhl GM or coach said that it would be a good trade for both teams when realistically it's a good trade for MTL

Its not even a rumor. Former player Phil Boucher said that's what he'd trade Price for. That's it.

I know its closer than any of our achievements but IMHO, GM of a junior team is nothing special so that shouldn't add any more credibility.
