The Leafs aint trading Nylander, but Demko and 1st would atleast get conversation started. I will make a counter offer of Barrie (with extension), Kapanen/Johnsson for Demko, Tanev, 3rd. What do you think?

There is absolutely no reason the Rangers would do that.

The Rangers laugh in your face and hang up. Lemieux > Sautner + Goldobin and Belesky’s Contract >>>>>>> Eriksson’s contract.

Also the Oilers reject, and you’re ridiculously overpaying for Nylander.

I wouldn't take it, because it would be possible to get Barrie as an UFA, provided TOR doesn't re-sign him. At this point trading for him is pretty futile in my opinion.

In a sense yes, but most people would acquire them as rental strengthening, when they carry a smaller rental value. In your example there was an extension involved, which would make the asset's trade value higher for Toronto. Point being that it would be quite pointless for them to acquire Barrie with extension when they can just sign him, provided that they want him in the first place, which I don't think is the case considering they just acquired an UFA RHD...

WOW! that TOR deal is brutal! a top 4 D man, a bonafide elite goalie prospect, 2 solid(ish) middle 6 guys AND a first round pick!!!?? all for what? a guy that peaked at 40 points and now is on pace for 50? but also one season removed from a train wreck..... Ceci is a non factor in this whole situation.

if JT Miller is worth a first then Nylander would be too, maybe add a Pearson or a Virtanen or a Tanev because he's younger/might have more upside. DEFINITELY not all three and absolutley not Demko!

Demko has to go
His weakness in laying down the paddle is going to be brutally exploited.
DiPietro has much bigger upside.

Petterssen , Nylander, Pulujarvi = over 9000
