don't give up on barrie now... he has a new coach that might properly utilize him and its worth waiting to see if he'll find his game back a bit- dude scored 60 points last year

I'll still pass on Barrie, terrible 5 v 5, and awful defensively, we have enough d men like that already, plus Jarry has been our best goalie this year, he's sliding closer and closer to being nearly untradeable, you can have Desmith for like nothing though

I think Barrie will turn it around, either in TO or Pitttsburg. Gives the Pens a replacement for Letang on the PP until he is back and good depth after he returns. I picked Jarry to target because I agree with you, I think he could replace Anderson down the road. Desmith is a good B/U and gets the Leafs a first for Barrie.

Doesn't really help the Leafs losing two RHD and only getting one LHD in return. No reason to think Bracco and Sandin are NHLers this year. Can Pens acquire all cap space?

Hamonic is a right handed (shooting) RHD. Barrie at $2.75M fits under the pens cap.

TO would get three bonifide "top 9-ish" players that can each slide into the top-6.

I’d say pens pass. Pens aren’t desperate to trade a goalie. They won’t get rid of Jarry unless there is an overpay. Jarry and a 5th for Barrie maybe gets it done for the pens, but I don’t think Toronto would want to get rid of Barrie without getting either a top 4 RHD back or a decent pick coming back

If I'm the Leafs I don't make that Barrie trade. He'll turn it around. With the Flames trade the value just isn't there for me. Ceci-Hamonic is a massive downgrade, and so is Jankowski-Gauthier. I don't think the difference between Bennett and Kapanen is big enough to turn that around. Also, the Flames like Bennett and need his grit just as much as the Leafs do.

It's funny in the off-season I did an ACGM and traded goat, petan and a 3rd or 4th for Jarry I think or it was something like that and I got lit up by leaf fans saying I was giving up to much lmfao.

yeah, Jarry's value has skyrocketed since the offseason, and that was leafs fans overrating Petan, every other fanbase seemed to accept that Jarry's value was about a third in the summer lol

That's the point though I saw his value (maybe not to this extent) but I thought he might be able to take over for Andersen when his contract is up. I still think it's funny how most leaf fans overvalue our players and undervalue opposing teams players in most trade scenarios. It will be interesting to see what your penguins do in the offseason given that Murray needs a new contract.
