Looking at the way Keefe coached in the AHL, you just knew that his system was going to fit in with the Maple Leafs. Fast transition, tenacious and offensive zone cycle. They are starting to look like the 2016 Penguins. I wonder if they will look even better with Marner back.

Yep I'm watching. It's exciting the way every player has jump in their step. Side note...in my fantasy team I decided to bench Grubaur because I have a few goalie stats already....lol

Dodged a bullet huh? Rofl

Very exciting and entertaining.

Still not sure the firing at this time was the right call, but no going back now.

It's early on but it's hard not see how different everything looks, including the vibe of the players. It really makes me think that Dubas made alot of his moves with Keefe in mind as the coach. This team makes sense to me again.

And I expect to see some guys really benefit with this change. Namely, Nylander, Barrie, Dermott, Holl, Spezza, and AM. And I betcha we see Marner playing the game with his typical joy. He might benefit the most actually with the team getting the green light to be creative.

It's going to be interesting to see what this team is.

Barrie looks miles better than he was looking under Babcock. Btw, I think Engvall might be here to stay based solely on his penalty killing ability.

I wish it would have happened after the playoffs. Keefe's system is tailor made for this roster.

Lol. I know. But maybe the curse is real?? You only need to think good things about the leafs, and then just like that... they get scored on. Very leafy

looking alright but 4-1, to 4-2, to 4-3... I feel like I may have seen this before. That being said, its only been two days and they look like the team that they were built to be. as Keefe gets more comfortable and has time at home with the team to really hone in on their systems n stuff, if this is them now, I have lots of optimism for the leafs under Keefe

Don't worry, they are going to be some issues still but this style will give them way more scoring chances and with guys like Matthews, Nylander and Tavares on the ice, that'll end up in the net a lot

It wasn't that bad.... I mean Jonson didn't get hurt and it was only a light push but definitely a penalty.

I'm good with a trade between my leafs and your Blues... You guys got alot of good players. Any idea of who Army is looking at on the leafs or who he might trade?

Can't win every game but overall they look like a completely different team. It's good to see them happy and playing for one another which I thought would be the biggest hurdle facing Keefe. I really can't believe how fast they picked up his system. I made a comment in the offseason in an ACGM that was trading Marner and said that it seemed like the twinkle in his eyes and how his face lit up everytime he talked about the leafs or playing for the leafs was gone... I thought he just didn't want to be here anymore but it was most likely Babcock as it showed him smiling on the bench during practice in Arizona. Good times ahead!!!

IMO we could use a 2nd line LW to play with 90 and 57. I dont think he would move 27, with us leading the West in points. We have like 6 C's and maybe he would move 49 (Barbashev) who I think would be a good 3rd line center for other teams but is behind Schenn, ROR, Thomas, Bozak and Sundqvist. Maybe he'll move a D as we sit one good D every night. Again I dont see him moving 27, 55 or 29.

From the leafs perspective I hope it's one of your great D but like you said I cant see it being Petro and definitely not Parayko although one can dream right...lol
