Just saying don't think they will break up the LOG line but I think Scandella for Galchenyuk is fair and Pitt makes out 900K in cap space. I doubt Risto is getting traded, I know there is a logjam on D but depleting it by 3 isn't something I see Botterill doing.

I have a suspicion that either Jack said that Sam should play with him on the line, or Sam stubbornly does not want to play in the center. Krueger never even tried to put him in this position, although Rodrigues regularly played there, Johansson, who is not the center and has terrible statistics on faceoffs, Larsson played there this season, but not Sam. Perhaps the train has already left.

the trades aside- why trade for two centres and then move a winger to centre? doesn't really make sense to me

No way theyd trade Risto rn, especially for AA. I also agree that Reinhart is not a center anymore, no reason to try it

AA and chucky are not a centers. Granlund can play center but I think Moving Reinhart to second line can give sabres two good lines and take less pressure of eichel. Also granlund would be better off filling in for Reinhart on top line. Reinhart was never given a shot at center the only nhl player he had on his wing was girgensons. If you move him to his natural position and have AA and skinner on his wings, that line can do some serious damage. He has shown last year that he doesn’t need eichel to get his points. Sabres biggest weakness is 2c which they might have right now.

Since they have points in 10 out of the last 12 I wouldn’t switch now. Wait till they hit a slump.

Sabres wouldn’t trade him right now. But Nylander brought in jokiharju. Casey should be worth double Nylander.

His natural position is RW, i think hes proven that to this point. Plus its been 4 years since he last played C, the growing pains wouldnt be worth it. The players youre moving could get you a much better option at 2C

Hes barely old enough to drink, theirs no way theyre done with him this early. The demotion is for his growth as a player not giving up on him

Johnsson hasnt played center in 4 years but he picked it up just fine. Reinhart is a surperior player and will have better players around him. If you give him time he could be become a great second line center for the sabres. I just think is dumb not to try it. espically with no 2c options for the forseeable future.

Pretty sure Johansson was playing center in NJ and it hasnt really gone that well.

The last time he played center was rookie year with capitals. And I think he has been the best 2c sabres have had since O’Reilly and it is not even close. Not saying he is amazing but hasn’t looked out of place at all.
Reinhart has improved his two way game and has the hockey IQ to play center. All I am saying is it is much easier to find players capable of playing top six on wing then center. So why not try him at center and one or two top six wingers.
