Pity for Karlsson, going from a rebuilding team to another...

Not a Sens fan but imo they should definitely say no.

Erik Karlsson will forever have a home in Ottawa, but he doesn't have a place on this team. Sens would be foolish to give up a top 10 pick in this draft.

He did it to himself. He didn't want to resign in SJ to begin with, but let the horrible 11.5x8 contract offer change his mind. He also holds some responsibility on why they are heading to a rebuild. He sucks. Sorry. He makes Doughtys contract look so amazing. Doughty is always healthy and good even when the Kings are at their worst except last season was a first, but turned it around this season.

EK doesn't suck. No D who averages minimum of 60 points a season does. He's an amazing D-man, offensively - and also defensively he's pretty sound too. He just might be a tad injury prone.

His contract does suck though. But I think he wanted some stability in his life. The latest year or two with all the rumors and trades, including what happened to his family, might've took it's toll on him. That's why he opted on re-signing with a team that certainly wanted him long-term, getting the biggest contract he can get.

Did I just read Karlsson and defensively sound in the same sentence??? Come on guy let's be real here. Do you ever watch him? I grew up in NorCal and have friends that are huge Sharks fans that admit how horrible he is defensively. Also, for more than 2 years he hasn't been all that great offensively. At least to his standards. He is on a team with better players than before too. What has been his excuse? When was the last time he got over 60 points? 2 years ago. He was also a -25 that same season.

Defensively he was pretty ok in OTT.

He has suffered injuries these pasts 3 years. Not to mention that his kid died / was born dead.

EK was better in OTT. That I am not denying. But both this and the last season if you count his P/GP, he would've scored 60+ points in 82 games easily.

He is healthy and playing now and doing worse than Doughty.

Well he has more points in a worse team (based on the standings), and he had been the best D of his team. But I really never compared the two.

I gotta say, Marc Methot was probably the perfect defensive partner for Erik Karlsson. Aside from his "game-changing injury" from 2017 playoffs, losing Methot didn't help Karlsson a lot.
