Playoff Roster

Created by: Stabs32
Team: 2019-20 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 5, 2020
Published: Jan. 6, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Big Moves for a playoff run and future
Team is playing well but they are not built to beat Boston or Tampa
MON/TOR Trade
Huge move trading Nylander and Weber. Montreal needs a first line center and Nylander is easily that for them. Weber is healthy and at a 4.8mil cap he will be a perfect RD man with Reilly and will be valuable for a long time. Montreal signs Barrie. Domi puts on a Leafs jersey.
OTT/TOR
I doubt Ottawa does this trade but id love to have Brown back without Babcock holding him to a pure defensive role, He's a playoff guy IMO and I would pay even more than this trade.
EDM/TOR
Benning is a solid 3rd pair RD man, has been out with an injury but assuming hell be healthy soon and for the playoffs. Ceci may fit well with a weak D in Edmonton and Timashov gets his opportunity for a bigger role.
CBJ/TOR
Josh Anderson is a beast when healthy he is everything we need. He is an RFA on a bad year due to injury from last years playoff's, could be a huge pick up comes back healthy for the playoffs and signs a shorter bridge deal in the summer.

Adds Cap space so we can carry more bodies and stay healthy and add a backup goalie if available.

During the last three seasons at 5v5, Benning has ranked 18th among NHL defenceman with over 2300 minutes played in goals for percentage with a 54.87

I agree they should decline but the Oilers are not the model franchise for decision making and Benning won't likely re sign as an RFA.
Ceci has played well and I suspect would stay if they gave him a good contract.

Look we agree again. At 4.8m and Preds being responsible for his retirement I would say that would make him quite desirable.

I don’t think I would move nylander for him though.

These trades are total non-sense. Do you really think that the hottest team in the entire NHL is going to blow up their winning roster for a bunch of questionable players. Dubas would be hanging up on you over the phone after the first trade proposal.

I had lunch with Dubas just yesterday and he said Nylander is very much on the table for the foreseeable future.

I think OTT would wait on a better offer for C Brown. Bracco's production has dropped significantly this season and he's been completely invisible in 5-on-5 play. It's been 4+ years since you drafted him and he's yet to play a single NHL game, even while he was on fire last season. You probably should've traded at last summers draft cause his play this season has hurt his value quite a bit.

Winning roster? your talking about a win streak right? We haven't won anything for a very long time...
