Here's the analysis...
Moore, the guy who can't stay up in the lineup. "Chicago needs a LHD" sure, give us the guy who sits in the pressbox but is lefthanded....oh yeah, he's got a $2.75M cap hit for the next 3 years also.
Zboril, career AHL guy and btw, he's on his last year of his contract this year.
Karlsson, 24 year old prospect next year also on an expiring deal but here's the real kicker, he's so good he's back in sweden playing in the SHL after looking like crap in the AHL.
BTW Chicago, we'll throw in a 3rd but you need to retain $1.5M
...so what do you think?
You've got to be freaking kidding me! LMAO this is horrible!
So, I’m not necessarily saying this is fair value for Saad, but i think your analysis is quite far off here. Let’s start with Moore. Yes, he isn’t consistently in the lineup, but it isn’t really by his own doing. They signed him to be a player, and then Matt grzelcyk blossomed. So, in terms of LHD, he’s kind of blocked. They’re trying to get grzelcyk on the right side more frequently so he can play. He’s a decent player, but getting one of Chara, Grzelcyk, or Krug to sit is a pretty tough task. All three of those guys are top four d men. John Moore isn’t. He’s a third pair guy that can fill in on a second pair in case of injury without killing you.
There is absolutely no reason to say that Zboril is a career AHL guy. He’s actually looking really good in providence this year, and has taken some major strides forward. D men sometimes take a while, that’s just a fact. Again, he’s pretty well blocked in Boston given their situation on the left side of the D. He’s in the NHL for a lot of teams. Bad pick? Probably, but to label him as a career AHLer is very far off.
JFK went to sweden this year because he was blocked to hell after the Coyle trade. He’s a pretty solid prospect, and looked like a bonafide NHL player last year.
I don’t think the bruins have interest in Saad anyway, so it’s not really worth discussing I suppose.
