Team: 2019-20 Buffalo Sabres
Trades
BUF
  1. Watson, Austin
  2. Granlund, Mikael
  3. 2020 3rd round pick (NSH)
Additional Details:
Buffalo picks up a positional need with Granlund and acquires a big bottom six F in Watson. Salaries match
NSH
  1. Miller, Colin
  2. Sheary, Conor
  3. 2020 2nd round pick (BUF)
Additional Details:
Sheary is a player that John Hynes is very familiar with in Wilkes Barre and has the same number of points and is an expiry deal like Granlund.

Miller gives them a D that can play on the second or third pair, and provide PP help and has two years left
BUF
  1. Anisimov, Artem
Additional Details:
Anisimov and Frolik are former linemates from Chicago and could form a very formidable third line in Buffalo. Anisimov has another year left and Buffalo could afford to take it on to be the third line center.
OTT
  1. Sobotka, Vladimír
  2. Rodrigues, Evan
  3. 2020 3rd round pick (NSH)
Buyouts
  • Cody Hodgson: $791,667
  • Ville Leino: $0
  • Christian Ehrhoff: $0

I think adding both guys would enable you to buy some time for Mittelstadt, Cozens, and Artuu Ruotsalinen to develop. I’d love to give Mikael Granlund a look and see if a change of scenery helps

This is of course if the Sabres creep closer to a playoff spot. The Sabres are collecting a good amount of young talent as it is....I think buying some modest assets wouldn’t hurt to at least try.

I just don’t think they are in a position to trade first rounders and prospects right now.

I think that’s a good trade for the Preds too.

Sens accept. Sobotka can be a warm body down the stretch while the Sens prospects make a run for the Calder Cup. Rodrigues could get a legitimate chance to play big minutes for Ottawa.

Get Vesey out of there and thatineup looks pretty good. Id rather have Lazar on the 2nd line and Reinhart back up top

Nashville perspective

Watson is expendable and granlund isn’t doing much for us. Miller would help beef up the defense and sherry plugs forward hole for the year. I’d probably do it
