Additional Details:

That trade obviously considers that Kovy keeps on going with his PPG sequence. TBL gives their lowest 1st rounder and gets a mid round pick in exchange, they don't want to go 4 and out again. (Picks most likely being in the 20's and late 60's)
If needed Mike Condon's contract could go the other way, I don't know if he's considered a cap dump OR another late pick can be added with the 3rd if we're close apart from a deal.

Additional Details:

Nobody's talking about them but the TBL will go out and get Kovy at the TDL. The offense came out flat in the playoffs scoring 3-1-1-3 goals... Not afraid of moving one of their 1st rounders they're pulling the trigger on a PP specialist and a top6 winger able to play minutes if needed.

You're not getting a 1st round pick for Kovalchuk, even if it is mitigated by a 3rd.

MTL retains 50% on Coburn then flips him for a mid round pick

Kovalchuk move you up to a late 1st round pick in ideal situation for both teams

they sell hedman and stamkos for a huge profit then look at the team as is before you even bother factoring in the prospects and picks trading those players with leave .

there goes their cap issues to boot.
