Not really a Buffalo Sabres fan, but Duane has suffered to long.
Not sure about the value on these trades since I'm not a big Sabres fan but gives me a chance to learn about another team so here I am.
In my opinion this team has plenty of skill but needs grit and leadership and that is what I am trying to do.

From sabres side, no to the pitt and Minnesota trade. Both McCabe and Jokiharju have been 2 of the sabres best dmen. Sabres dont need Murray that bad and Jokiharju is young, why would you move him for Brodin. Botterill already said he was untouchable anyway

Joki has a bright future no doubt, but honestly this team is worse than the sum of its parts. Brodin is a great defenseman who could help Dahlin find his way to becoming a Norris trophy yearly candidate. Plus Brodin has a contract that won't require Sabres to protect him at expansion draft time which could prove helpful.
Foligno is a guy who brings effort everyday which Sabres lack. He is also a leader in the locker room.
I love Eichel but he hasn't really ever had high end veterans around him to show him how to lead.
Murray is better than Hutton and like the Blues last year sometimes you just need a goalie to steal a game.

Moving Joki for Brodin is absolutely not worth it. Minnesota would also be paying a lot more. Id like Foligno, but not at that cost. Thats insane. Hutton isnt Buffalo's starter. This season is done and they have some capable goalies in the system, so thats not a concern moving forward

So any intrest in Foligno for Vesey and a 4th?
As far as Murray, if you are giving up on the season then I would agree with you.

Idk about that ANA trade, def fair value... But idk if ANA wants another 50/50 LTIR contract in Okposo, and that PIT trade is rough, Riikola when given an opportunity has been really good, and Murray has been picking up his game as of late, Hutton has basically 0 value, he's a bit expensive, and I doubt is that big of an upgrade over DeSmith, and I'd like McCabe, but i doubt he's good enough to get both Murray and Fleury, and that MIN trade is probably rejected by MIN as well as you said, I feel like Joki and a second is fair for Brodin (I'd say Joki's ceiling is about Brodin level, second to make up for him likely not being as good) but Vesey got Foligno probably won't happen, Foligno is the best defensive forward in the game. And Vesey hasn't been good since coming to BUF

That's a bad return for Foligno. Vesey is a UFA at the end of the year and fits nowhere on the current or future MN team.

No, we arent moving jokiharju and a top 8 pick for brodin. And why would we not have to protect him in the expansion draft? Is it because he would be a ufa that would already have his bags packed to walk in free agency? Like 12 months after we traded jokiharju and a top 8 pick for him?

I fell over at that Ducks deal. Ducks won't want to give up Getz for that specific grouping. Sabres wouldn't improve by getting Getz for what they're giving up.

I honestly don't think you even need Riikola in that PIT trade, maybe have each team swap (uneven) picks.
