Poile works out miracles to turn it around

Created by: Wqrrior

Description
point is that they just need the culture in the room to change. a bummed out guy getting almost zero ice time won't contribute, and there's few teams in this league that view him as an asset. Iafallo has been a workhorse on a team with not much to work for. A huge add.

I am pretty sure Poile was in a coma during the trade deadline. Let's hope he recovers.

I dislike both trades - trenin is looking great this year and the turris trade just makes me sad. I mean abdelkader only has like 3 points last time I checked...I think preds could get more out of this trade than just a 2021 3rd

This makes NSH a lot worse.
Holzer/Weber/Tinordi/Harpur cannot be in the NHL next season

They aren't as big as the title makes out - i agree.

The problem is work ethic, which is a hard problem to fix. The coaching experiment didn't change much. It got Granlund going, but that's about all. Josi has been the lone consistent workhorse this year.

If Poile can make a move that can change the atmosphere in the locker room to get all of the guys putting their full game forward every game, this is a playoff team. I obviously can't see inside the locker room - but I can't imagine Turris is contributing to anything positive. Iaffalo, a Coleman type guy, also adds to the culture in the room.

Are we watching the same team? The one that's 10-4-1 in the last 15. These trades take the team from a playoff spot to 5-7 points out instantly.

Turris > Abdelkader
Blackwell > Watson
Smith = Iafallo

Swapping Turris for Abdelkader doesnt do anything for the Preds, they still get a bad contract in return except they get a player far worse than Turris who has been one of their best players since the coaching change.
Watson should not be in the lineup, I know they just signed him but Blackwell has been head and shoulders better than Watson. Trenin would also play before him in lineup.
Iafallo is younger and has a cheap contract, but hes a lateral move to losing Smith in FA. It wouldn't provide an additional boost to their offence.

I know Holzer hasn't played for the Preds yet, but hes been worse than Irwin this season which is almost hard to imagine. I know you have the defense listed as scratches but 3 of the 4 I mentioned are below NHL replacement level, the exception is Harpur who is actually below AHL replacement level.

" This makes NSH a lot worse.

Figured those two lines were part of the same point.
