Yeah that's going to take a 1st AND you'll get a 6th or 7th back but I do see why OTT would be interested by this (Didn't know he has a big bonus). Good thinking but give more for a scrub!

They still need to actually pay his salary though! If he were injured then they could keep him on IR so that the cap still applies but then insurance would pickup most of the actual dollars that way they spend way less and still get the benefit of his cap.

Melnyk is cheap so having to pay Loui even the 5M over the next two years is too much. All for what? Sven and Josh Teves?......... Whoopity doo. If they need cap to reach the cap floor, they'll trade for injured guys, not healthy ones.

i think OTT may be interested, especially with the cap floor going up next year. however VAN would have to pay and Baertschi is not payment, neither is Teves who got sent down to the ECHL. i don't think it would cost as much as the Marleau deal as that was a pure Buyout. LE is still a decent roster player, 3rd line shut down guy, just not a top 6 guy and defs not a 6 million guy.

IMO Trade is next year (1.5 years left of LE's contract)
