Montreal would be insane to say no. That's an overpayment

Yeah maybe Montreal 2nd going back to NYI makes more sense. Leddy is a 2nd pairing D man, Wilde has a high ceiling, and bellows likely projects as a middle 6 15-20 G scoring winger who can contribute on the PP

I've seen a bunch of posts with Domi getting shipped out for nothing, and while this might be a little steep depending on Wilde's development (which I have not tracked), what happened to Domi to have his value fall so far?

I like it, both are really good prospects and Leddy can help us in the short term. The only thing is, we should not trade Domi. First because I think its a maturity issue in his case and he can turn it around in the next 2 years, just need to control his emotions the right way. Also, his value isnt very good right now with a bad season and a contract to negotiate. If we want to fix the D or add good prospects, we should be doing it by working something around Drouin or Tatar.

Interesting offer! But with Mtl situation if they put Domi on the market they will target a younger Lhd. Even with bolde and bellows this isn’t really what Montreal need right now. Montreal have a lit of good prospect like bellows and bolde, what they need is a top A prospect or a young left handed defenseman. With romanov, harris, fleury, brook and norlinder Montreal have some good prospect on the defense And got ylonen, caufield, poehling, kk, suzuki up front. With 14 more pick this year and 7 of them in the first 100 th they will add to this impressive list. What they need more is young players. Montreal would probably ask for beauvilier and leddy for domi and a second round pick (st louis)

the reason Domi has been on "the block" (at least according to some medias and fans from AGM) is because he isn't thrilled on playing on the LW.

The facts is that both are good prospect both none of them is projected as high end players. The offers isn’t exactly what Montreal need since they already have plenty of depth in their farm system with caufield, romanov, harris, olofsson, ylonen, kk, poehling, norlinder, struble, hillis, suzuki and 14 pick in the upcoming draft with 7 th projected in the first 100 pick. Montreal need established players. I think that if they use domi as a trade bait they won’t take prospect unless it’s a grade A prospect like dobson, or like for Pacioretty when they received suzuki if not they won’t moved domi for a-, b prospect like bolde and bellows since they already have Plenty of similar prospect.

Wilde is an A prospect and is projected to be a high end player. There’s no one on the canadiens I would trade Dobson for.

That’s somethibg that been built up. Domi is committed wherever he play, the reason he is in the rumors is because of the extension talks. Montreal might not want to gave him more then 6 millions on a long term deal and since he got some value can use him to acquire the missing left handed defenseman who haven’t replace markov since he is gone

Wilde isnt a grade a prospect. Dobson is a grade A prospect, Caufield is a grade A prospect and that about it for both team. Maybe or definition of grade A isnt the same but if i fallow the Button list Bolde isnt a grade A prospect. Doesn’t mean he isnt a good prospect but justbthat he isnt a s’ecial players like dobson or caufield or suzuki. Montreal already have josh Brook, cale fleury, jordan harris and Alexander romanov that are superior or equally prospect.

That’s fair, but when Suzuki was traded to Montreal he wasn’t considered a “special” prospect in the same category as Cody glass (now Suzuki has surpassed him). Domi will not get a “special” prospect like a byram, Bouchard, or Dobson in return.

tbh i think if MTL is trading Domi a successor for Weber is coming back.

I don’t think that dobson have the offensive upside of heiskanen or dahlin that will make him a superstar. I mean the guy’s is a complete beast on defense, and is such a great skater but for me dobson is more like Jonas Brodin. He will play top minutes but won’t get much time on powerplay. Even in lhjmq lasg year when a saw him play he wasn’t the most dominant players in the offensive side.

And No Domi is probably not worth a top A prospect but that will be the asking price. Or it will take young established players like beauvilier to get him. Montreal have need to fill and will target a specific type of players or prospect that for sure. With Price and Weber that want changes and who want to win taking B+ prospect isnt the way to achieve it.

I would trade him for jonas brodin everyday of the week. Depending on this year draft there a lot of scenarios possible. If we draft top 3 there a possibility that Kk get traded if we get byfield or stutzle. Then we get a young left shot defenseman. So many thing this offseason will happen.

You think KK has just as much value as byfield/stutzle??

No if montreal win one of the top three pick this years KK could be traded for a young left handed defenseman. Montreal will have byfield or stutzle to replace him at center and would get that lefty that is missing. And could keep domi on the wing.

No byfield have a much more higher ceiling. With is size and strengh and is skill set he can become the next malkin. Stutzle could become a backstrom 2.0. Very gifted playmaker with great skating and very responsible both ways.

We need a real lefty. Romanov will be good but definitely not a first pair defenseman and Mete isnt first pairing stuff. If that the case Montreal is in deep shat for years to come
