Islanders will NOT trade Pulock unless Dobson and Wilde are properly groomed to take his spot in 5 years. Also, trading Cizikas!? Have you seen how this team plays without him!??

islanders lack offense, near the bottom of the league in GF, nylander would easily become your 2nd best forward no questions asked, anyone who thinks islanders lose the 1 for 1 trade nylander for pulock is delusional, nice to see the islanders coming back to reality

Yes it IS a loss for the Islanders. Maybe you should pay more attention to the importance of players like Pelech and Pulock. The team has been an absolute defensive nightmare since Pelech went down. It'd be even worse without Pulock. There are other trades the Islanders can pursue to improve WITHOUT touching Pelech, Pulock, Dobson, or even Wahlstrom. Ffs, do some more research!

and they are an offensive nightmare with a fully healthy lineup, you need to give to get, dont know when you and the other 6 Islanders fans will realize.

You don't add by subtracting from an area that you already lack efficient depth at.

Furthermore, the Islanders have Wahlstrom who is already being groomed to be that power forward scorer. He's been much better overall in BPT than Bellows. And there are other players the Islanders are most likely going for without breaking their foundation.

if you wanna make the argument that the isles shouldnt do it based on need sure, but dont make it seem like the value isnt there because it is, at the same time if the team producing more offense there is less pressure on the d. and this is not me saying that offence is everything because its not by any means

Your team has a surplus on offense. We do NOT have a surplus of defense. And also not true. Ask the WPG Jets who had only 7 SOG to the Blues after 2 periods in an elimination game. Defense holds the fort and carries transition.

Pulock is not getting moved, their #1 D-Man is much more valuable then Nylander would be. On top of that, Nylander is the exact opposite of a Trotz player who does not commit to playing Defense. He would be absolutely exposed in this system and his offensive production would significantly drop.

    Bellows is not a C.

Casey is a critical part of the team and not getting traded.

    Do not want Tanev.

The Jets just did not show up in that game, they quit on each other or the coach that day, that Jets team had both good scoring power up front and a very solid D core so that's really not a good example/comparison.

Aside from Morrissey and Trouba at that time, who's relevant in that D core!?

NJD have no need for Komarov, especially for multiple picks. Easy pass.

Both teams should be VERY cautious about a Nylander/Pulock swap in any shape/fashion pick your poison on who get's the extra picks/prospects...that's not why I'm making this comment. The system each player plays in matters a TON.

TOR is a pure offense let's see who can score 7 goals first kind of offense. That doesn't diminish Pulock as a player at all. It means...do you think Pulock will provide the same kind of defensive ability in TORs system as he does in Trotz system...which won the Jennings last year and would be 5th this year...with much of the same players as 2017/2018 when they were dead last in goals allowed?

Same goes the other way too... Nylander is an offensive player that's going to be asked to play a MUCH larger role defensively because of the system changes.

Maybe, it's this exact reason these players are being discussed, but that also seems more like a lose/lose proposal rather than a win/win...both teams trying to fix something by trading away the identity that makes them who they are.

The Islanders are also fine on RW long-term. LW is a different story. The guy I want is RNH. EDM is 90% going to lose him. He can play both C and LW and they'd want cost-controlled NHL ready prospects and picks to offset the AA trade.

Oh geez, what a misguided view.

Buff decided to retire, sorry but signing Connor and Laine was more important than Myers and they should of signed Chiarot but Chevy is a moron sometimes.

Laine is one of the laziest players when he doesn't have the puck. Your team needs more in D. CH is literally carrying the team who's bottom 4 defense now is made up of old coffee cups and lids.

Why are the Oilers 90% going to lose RNH?

I'd say it's about 90% that he's going to be resigning with the Oilers, they're way too thin for top 6 forwards to let him walk a free agent.

Here are the obstacles that EDM has to overcome
    Extending Bear
    Kassian's extension kicks in
    Nurse's extension kicks in
Need a backup to replace Smith
They're going to extend AA given all they gave up to get him. Holland was GM of DET when AA was drafted.

Also, don't think it'd be smart monetary management for EDM to have 3 players making up to potentially 29 mil AAV. Islanders can take full advantage of that.

The islanders can address their offense without giving up their #1D , just like the leafs can address their defense and starting G this summer without giving up nylander or marner.

Just because the value is fair, doesn’t mean the islanders should do it. It doesn’t make the team better in the near future. Isles are set at G , D and center for the foreseeable future - it’s not a secret they need a scoring winger, but until wahlstrom develops into that 30+ winger for barzal, they can trade for a guy like Saad or tatar (who both have 1 year left on their deals) as a stop gap or just sign Hoffman in FA.
