This team was good. Don't think we would've beaten Chicago but we could've made it at least to the conference finals at least if Fleury had a save percentage over .900

Ah the 2010 pens. Great team, fleury choked, and we ran into a red hot goalie. We should’ve won that series. We were a much better team

Don’t forget Fleury choked in 2012 & 2013 as well. I love MAF, but he failed to pick up his game when it mattered most. Costed us 3 cups. If they won them, there would be no question that Sid is the GOAT.

Should be “cost us the opportunity to have a better chance at winning 3 more cups.” I get fleury underperformed a few times In the playoffs, but unfortunately there are still no guarantees we win even if fleury is better. That being said, a red hot Marc-Andre fleury would have given us a much better shot at cup(s) from 2010-2015.
I personally would have loved to see us beat the blackhawks or kings in the SC final to cement our dynasty as superior to theirs at that time. Now it 100% is. We won before them and after them and still have a great team while the kings are at the bottom and the blackhawks are floundering in the middle.

It would’ve been awesome if we beat the Hawks cuz all the NBC & NHL media people keep hyping them up while downplaying the Pens’ achievements from this decade. I felt they should’ve won in 2018 too cuz Sid & Jake were unreal. Unfortunately, Holtby was as well whereas Geno, Phil, Brassard & Letang were all playing through major injuries so it didn’t help. I always wondered what would happen to Ovie if the Pens beat them again that year. Would he have gotten traded?

Not a whole lot tbh. Pens have no need to bring him back

Yes I agree. He was a good skater & defensive Forward but his scoring ability was very weak, plus he was injury prone.

Shrug. Average fourth liner who had a decent stretch to help is win but his contribution was minimal overall. Our fourth line now is way better than anything we had even in the cup years I think. Cullen did a good job though and a younger rust didn’t score as much but was clutch. Game 7 vs TBL, right? Rush played with Geno then though.

Cooke..... back when hockey was real hockey. The team could use a guy like him today.

Did anyone see that interview with Ron Francis....."I wish there was more hitting in the game"
basically called players today a bunch of p****ies.

Yeah agree Kunhackl was decent for his role during those cup runs but his lack of productivity & proness to injury caused him to lose his spot in the lineup. I think this current team is better than 2016 overall. At least on paper. We’ll see if they can get through the slump they had before the season pause & continue their dominant run.

People say it was Bylsma's coaching style that turned the 09 Penguins around but in all likelihood it was probably Gonchar coming back from injury
