In what world do you actually think Florida considers this? They can just CBO Bobrovsky and keep Ekblad.

I know Florida wants to shed 10 mill for next season but I don't think they do that

What happens if Mikheyev plays the 3rd line?? Does 'guarantee' mean 100% of the time???

What happens if the Leafs don't win the Cup?? Does Dermott get a guarantee he's protected in the expansion draft to stay with his hometown team??

Do you know the exact words of the owner?? Does he want a 10 mil cut from this year's salary?? Or 10 mil below the next year's cap???

He wants to cut 10 mill for next season and with the cap staying at 81.5 he may reduce the reduction to 8 but still that team will lose a lot of good players (Hoffman, dadonov ,etc)

Thanks. My example is they spent 87+ mil in salary,79 mil in cap space, for 19-20 season. Is it 77 mil salary or 69 mil in cap space money???

With 17 signed there is already 73 in salary and 72 in cap space...

U gotta give some kind of reasoning behind the FLA trade,
bc it makes ZERO sense for them...

Why wouldn’t they just use the CBO on Bob themselves,
    and get to keep Ekblad??

To get the kind of deal you’re looking to make,
you’ll have to find a team that needs to buy out 2 bad contracts
    And even then...
i guarantee you aren’t getting a guy like Ekblad back
    Not even close

You do understand if a team uses the CBO they still have to pay that player right....just doesn't count against the cap. A organization like the Panthers can't afford to pay that kind of money for someone to go away.

Not saying the Leafs would get that much but I think they could get a first and a prospect

Sure, but they aren’t getting Ekblad
And they aren’t even getting the return u want
With FLA ready to take a step back losing Bob, Hoffman & Dadonov...
    there’s no way they’d give up a 1st

Yes, they need to cut salary apparently
But Hoffman & Dadonov are a savings of over $9mil in real $$$
And buying out Bob still SAVES $$$ compared to what they’d be paying him overall

They’d buy him out themselves if the price to move him is gonna be that high

I don't know Panthers ownership but most owners in small markets will rather give a pick then pay out a lot of cash for a guy to walk one year into a big contract. A year that there revenue took a huge hit with a shortened season on top of that.

    With the players they’re losing,
they’re extremely likely to be a non playoff team
They WILL NOT trade their 1st
    I 100% guarantee it
