laugh laugh That Zach Werenski trade is bad for Columbus, You're not even close there for Werenski. And you're right that Krug signing is nowhere near being realistic. He'd leave Boston if that's all Sweeney offered him. That's for sure.

If he can make 5.75 at 37 years old, he might take it. He wont be getting more than a 6 year deal anywhere because by the time hes 35 he is gonna be declining.
Bruins dont offer that deal

There’s trade able, there’s even fair trades, then theirs bad/awful trades....... then there’s these trades... OOF is the word is use. Neither Calgary or Columbus accept and you aren’t even in the right city let alone the right ball park. But I know this is a dream team, so please continue to dream.

I know Krug said he'd take less than market value but that was assuming he'd still make $6.5M to $7M.

Absolutely!

I was thinking about doing the math to see how it plays out:

6.75 (avg) x 6 = 40.5

5.75 x 8 = 46

If he then gets even two more years at 2 million dollars at 35, thats 40.5 + 4 = 44.5

which is still less than the 46 he can make in this deal

Again, bruins dont want to do it. And he probably wouldnt anyway, but logically for him, its not a bad idea

take a look. Again it aint gonna happen, but to say Krug would laugh might not be true.)

If the cap stays the same or goes down you will have players doing what it takes to get their share. That being said Krug's previous statement about staying Boston might not mean much and understandably so. Now there are couple of teams that could and probably would give $7M for 7yrs. I've said it before Boston has a couple really good Dprospects and might not want to tie up that much cap for 8yrs on Krug. If Boston wins the cup and with the current situation I really can't see Boston wanting to resign him.

Counter: Josh Anderson, Kevin Stenlund, our 2020 1st, and Gabriel Carlsson for David Pastrnak.
