Do you think that 3.5 is good for 4 yrs?

When you toggle the pages above ^ ^ ^ to "Long-Term Outlook" the 4yr deal still has JD as an RFA - is that a site miscue?

Yes. And it’s for basically every player in such a situation. It’s a glitch. It’s my theory that it’s one that would fix itself once the year updates to 20-21, but who knows. It’s a really good site, but it isn’t perfect apparently. Basic rule of thumb is that if a player has 7 years of service, he’s a UFA 100% of the time (also if he’s 27).

how bout you name some goal scorers who you would consider elite and we can go from there, cause you cant really put a definition on it

That's a good question and there multiple ways you could look at it. For the sake of this I like G/GP and typically I like to look at the last 3 seasons. Why 3 seasons, well because it can help balance out those career years, down years or injury year. Now the most common "goal scorer" number is 30 goals or in this case 0.365 G/GP, but lets round up and call it 0.37. Over the last 3 years there have been 393 forwards that have played a minimum of 100GP, with 45 of those having an average of a 0.37 G/GP (roughly 11% of NHL forwards). Top 10% is insanely good, but is it elite? For the sake of this, lets call the top 1% of goal scorers elite or in this case the top 4 based on G/GP over the last 3 years. That gives us the following:

Player - (goals over 82 based on G/GP)

Alex Ovechkin - (52)
Auston Matthews - (48)
David Pastrnak - (46)
Connor McDavid - (43)

So they all average over 40 goals. Now lets say you set the bar at you must average 40 goals to be considered "elite".... Now you're list expands to include:

Leon Draisaitl - (42)
Nathan MacKinnon - (42)
Nikita Kucherov - (40)
Patrice Bergeron - (40)

Now I'll admit as I Bruins fan I have a hard time calling Patrice Bergeron an elite goal scorer because he's never actually hit 40 goals, but over the last 3 years he scores at a 40G pace. So including these players to the original 4, you come out to 8 players who've average a minimum of a 40 G/GP pace, which is roughly the top 2% of forward over the last 3 years that have played a minimum of 100 games.

Thoughts?

like how you got there, i can agree with those, but yeah bergeron i wouldnt quite have in there, i know the stats say otherwise but when i see or think patrice i think of the elite 2 way defensive monster before elite goal scorer, thanks for responding and taking away from the soap opera drama that was going on

As part of my medical research, I had to do much research, so I’ll do the basic research for you.
To announce: “give notice of”
I’m guessing he quoted that, and if he did you should agree.

He is right. They did announce it, just not publicly.

I’m not sure where you are lost here

Haha spot on, exactly what I said!

Wow. You are paranoid as ——. Why would he have started today if he has been having these discussions for a long time.

I’m guessing you think @csick is also him and @McGruff is also.

God ok now you really are crazy.

Don’t worry @bsilk18 he just made it clear you are the normal one

Trust me I much rather talk about hockey and do so in a discussion vs a pissing contest lol. Just out of curiosity I did a 5yr average using the same criteria, only making it a min of 200GP.

351 FWD Qualified

Top 1% in G/GP

Alex Ovechkin - (48)
Auston Matthews - (46)
David Pastrnak - (40)
Nikita Kucherov - (39)

A few new names followed Kucherov with:

Brad Marchand - (38)
Steven Stamkos - (38)
Patrick Kane - (37)
Evgeni Malkin - (37)

Also interesting to note a few guys from the 3yr "elite scorers"

Connor McDavid - (37) Rank 9th
Leon Draisaitl - (35) Rank 14th
Patrice Bergeron - (33) Rank 15th
Nathan MacKinnon - (32) Rank 18th

It's interesting to see that when stretched to 5 years, some of the names move around and only 3 guys have a G/GP over 40 Goals w/ Kucherov just missing the mark. Again using the same 40 goal mark, maybe you could make an argument that Ovie, Matthews and Pasta are elite goal scorers as they've sustained it over a longer period of time. Although I'd probably throw Kucherov in there too as he's 1 goal shy and including him would be the top 1%

You formed a new account today because people weren’t agreeing with you, and your fragile psyche couldn’t handle it. Now you’re conversing with yourself. Reflect upon that. Goodbye.

If @bsilk18 had wanted to make a new account, why would he have done it today? It sounds like you guys have done this in the past, so why today?

It’s absolutely crazy that you think I’m him!

Me neither, I just joined this website and I have already been told to “suck him off” and I have been called someone else’s “backup account”. Is this a normal day on this website?
