This assumes that pietrangelo does not resign/extend, and that they will desire to replace him the best they can

Previous thread discussing adds to a Thomas-DeAngelo thread.

Still think Howden would need to be replaced by a prospect with some upside, and probably St. Louis adding a contract.
And that's based on the Rangers struggling to get DeAngelo et al re-signed for next season.

Trade DeAngelo
Bridge/Arbitration for Strome (to see how Thomas & Chytil develop over next 2 seasons)

STL should not even think about moving Thomas. He will become their best forward soon

C’mon, Howden was one of the worst forwards in the league this year

You said that Howden would need to be replaced by a “prospect with upside” implying that he has value. What am I missing here?

i don't exactly know WHAT to balance this with. Howden is a placefiller. Please feel free to propose a better balance

Chytil is probably too high of a return, and howden too low. need something inbetween

"Still think Howden would need to be replaced by a prospect with some upside"

replaced in the trade.

does that help you?

Rykov isn’t going to get you anything out of Edmonton. A quick look would tell you that the Oilers are one of, if not the deepest team at LD in the NHL.

I guess he could eventually be as good or better then Klefbom, Nurse, Jones, Lagesson, Samorukov, Broberg, Lennstrom, Niemelainen, and Cairns, but I think they’re alright.

No, we obviously have no need to make drastic changes to our core.
