This Team Could Repeat Again

Created by: Eddy
Team: 2020-21 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: May 22, 2020
Published: May 22, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Don`t want to trade Murray but to get Perfetti and to make the cap work it might have to happen. Murray had his first subpar stretch recently and is a highly respected 2x Stanley Cup winner who played unbelievable so don`t even try and say that's not enough for Chicago who needs a goalie to win now with Toews and Kane getting older. Mocks have Chicago taking Askarov in draft too but he won`t be ready to play for a couple years.

Talbot is a great backup who will play 30+ games a year depending on injuries and could step in and play really well if needed to

Just buyout JJ if it`s impossible to trade (which I don't think it is)

Cannot see Chicago making this deal. I also just rather keep DeSmith as our backup.

I could. Murray is one of the best goalies in the league. I would rather keep Murray over Jarry but it won`t work out cap wise. Jarry wouldn't get much in trade because he is somewhat unproven. Having Talbot as experienced backup who could step in and play some games and take over if Jarry gets hurt or flames out. Desmith is a great backup but I would wanna have more behind Jarry.

Goalies can hold decent value, but a top 10 pick in this draft seems like a lot.

Chicago would take Murray plus Marino I'm sure but it's probably too much to give up.

Not gonna happen. With Murray's absolutely sad season and due to the high level UFA market regarding goalies, Murray's max value is around a 2nd rounder.

The penguins aren't trading Marino are you high?

On top of all this mess, they aren't signing Barrie for 5.5 million.
They have two top 4 RHD on the team currently. Why would they spend that kind of money on a guy. That doesn't even make sense for this team.
And Poulin probably isn't coming up unless they are really really really strapped for cap space.

Does nothing for them right now. They probably wanna maximize Toews and Kane closing window.

I said they shouldn't do it... lean how to read. But tha would be the cost if you want a top 10 pick...

You're new so I won't destroy you.
-Zero need for Thornton. He's old and slow and would not fit the pens system.
-I'll be in the minority and say that CHI gets the best out of that trade.
-I traded for Barrie last year--but that was before some college kid(John Marino)burst onto the scene...no need for him now.
-If Poulin is ready I would be more than a bit surprised. He probably needs at least another year.
-I would keep DeSmith as well. Talbot/Jarry isn't the best tandem and could very easily blow up.
