Leafs dont need or want Honka.. frankly.. keep the pick and trade Faksa to Leafs for Johnsson. It would be a fair deal tbh.

I did one a while back and general TOR consensus was Honka + 3rd for Johnsson.

Faksa is one of my favorite games on the team. I know a lot of people on here will trade him away, but not me. Plus, he will be just as expensive as what TOR sends away... defeating the cap help theory.

Leafs are possibly moving 2/3 of Johnsson/Kerfoot/Kapanen so imo Johnsson for Faksa and Kerfoot for better package would make sense. I mean 3rd+Honka is fair from value standpoint.

klingberg and Lindell are 2 RHD.

We have Rasmus Ristolainen, Colin MIller, Henri Jokiharju under contract, Brandon Montour as an RFA and WIll Borgen ready to graduate to the NHL at RHD already.

Not that there isnt value there. If we trade reinhart it better not be for defense.

That makes sense. I am a Dallas fan, so I was trying to make the best team possible. Wanted to be realistic with other team needs (cap help), but wasn’t too concerned if they were better or worse after a move.



Yeah they are, but they also play together and play very well. They are experienced enough at this point to play either side, IMO. Maybe it doesn’t work, that was just a shot in the dark. I don’t really like Lindell but he is a bargain so I’ll keep trying to get rid of him.

The general consensus on my post was stated above. If you take a look at recent TOR AGM teams, trades involving only Johnsson return a single draft pick (your most recent included). When taking all things into consideration, from a value standpoint it is pretty fair. If I wanted to make TOR better I probably would’ve made a leafs AGM.

well that's just putting words in my mouth, my recent trade value of Johnson was "if the leafs were trading him simply to make cap space" and the value was "would be picks and prospects, probably one of each" and that isnt a specific value, that is a framework.
A mid to late 3rd rounder and a 24 year old who cant crack the NHL doesnt cut it.
You may not care about making toronto better, but if you dont want leaf fans calling your proposal bad, then you can at least pretend to try to give up something leaf fans want

If Dallas every offered you that for Reinhart, pull the trigger immediately and then sell Montour and Ristolainen for forwards. Your defence would be nuts and Reinhart isn't that good to begin with.

But other fans of Dallas said they agree so it must make it fair. 🙃

About 80% of what Stars fans say shouldn't be taken seriously. I love my team, but as a whole the fans have to be among some of the most loyally ignorant in the league. People on this site trash Leafs fans for their overvaluation of their players, but Dallas fans are right in that boat as well. I spend more time arguing with my own fan base than I should.
