I think the biggest problem with MTL is that they don't have any top offensive players (although Tatar has been amazing in MTL, I wouldn't put him in that category). And Johnsson just seems like more of the same - another middle 6 winger. He'd be a fine addition, but I think Lehkonen can be that 3LW without losing the picks. Not sure Johnsson is too much of an upgrade there.

Exactly, plus the cap implications moving forward having he and Byron (who play a pretty similar game tbh) taking up nearly $7 M between them seems foolish.

I'd take this trade for sure - I think they would very much like to not take salary back altho he is on a decent contract for his ability imo - we just outta cash !

Yes I do see. I do not agree with Domi’s contract whatsoever but regardless you are correct Johnsson would slide 3rd lien unless you would Be forced to trade Tatar’s salary. Domi should definetly get somewhere around 6 mil

This is horrible. We could just sign Kovalchuk who doesn’t have a long contract, is considerably better, and we get him for free.
