K issues

1. Detroit is rebuilding so has no interest in losing picks. They may have an interest in dermott but thats a big maybe.
2. That does not get u Savard. Columbus would want a RHD coming back should they move him
3. Have no use for Chandler and we aint paying a 2nd for him pass.

On the Columbus front, not really. We have a ton of defencemen that are NHL-ready but we have a log-jam at D. I'm not opposed to this deal tbh.

@AJP_18 @VIQSI do you think Specmence is correct or do you feel Savard should go if a RHD is coming back.

1. Doesn't have to be Detroit IMO, I used them almost as a placeholder. As long as you can get a 2nd for Dermott and a 2nd for Kerfoot, then everything else still works out. They're good, young players so I feel like there'd be a good market for them out there. I honestly want to keep Dermott but if we get a new Top 4 RHD, I don't see how we can afford to have him on our 3rd pair

2. I believe that's a pretty fair deal for Savard, since he's going on 30, they are stacked at D, but really lacking at forward. Adding a younger piece to the forward corps without subtracting from their top 3 defense is a nice get, seeing as they have guys (like Nuutivaara) who can step into that role

3. I'll agree that I may have overrated Stephenson. The trade is a 4th -> 2nd swap, not just giving away a 2nd, but he can probably be had for just a 4th considering Vegas will need to clear cap.

"Kerfoot is garbage"? I get the opposition to trading picks, that's completely fair. I wrongly assumed the Wings were further along in their rebuild than they actually are. But Alexander Kerfoot is definitely worth a 2nd rounder on the open market

I think it depends on the draft position a little bit. We get laf and then we're desperate for centers and kerfoot doesn't look like that bad an option . we get byfield or stutz then I think they pass on him. He isn't awesome but hes far from garbage

Just out of curiousity, how does a player that can only manage to score 3 even strength goals in over half a season while playing with elite line mates get labeled a "good middle 6 younger scorer"?

I live in Colorado and saw him play, I woudo give up a 7th round pick for him, you can keep him. It's not about the value, it's about the fact that he stinks and I wouldn't give up any asset except for say frans Nielsen or justin abdelkator for him because they are both worse with worse contracts.

You are correct though, the wings aren't giving up those 2nds unless it was a young impact player or prospect

It's more that a top-6 center is needed, and Johnsson... kind of isn't. But that'd also be potentially worth considering.

I agree with Viqsi on that we need a top 6 center so the trade really doesn’t work. I’d prefer a 2nd pair RHD come in as Peeke was good in limited minutes but he was also sheltered this year. I think he will be a top 4 RHD to replace Savard, I’m not sure he’s ready for next year.
