This is really bad. I’m all for trading Klinger and signing Barrie. I think it makes a lot of sense. But not for Gallagher. And def not with Faksa and a second added. You must REALLY like Gally

Yeah that's way too much for a 50 PT winger

It actually may be somewhat even Jfstompers because Gally is the heart and soul of the Canadiens, and we'd probably be in the same situation as Buffalo if we didn't have him. Plus Gallagher plays his heart out every night - I think he's like a smaller Chara to the Bruins but for the Habs

The value is easily there for MTL to say yes but still a easy no from the Habs.

You're offering them a RHD and a center, two positions that MTL doesnt need help in and taking away thier top RW, a position they have no depth in. It just doesnt work

Probably an overpay but hard to find consistent 30 goal scorers...Figured Dellandrea or Dickinson could fill 3C spot so Faksa expendable...

IDK guys can play on their off wing and you can never have too many Centers IMO...Plus Weber and Petry are 34 & 32 respectively...Getting a top pairing D on a great contract...

No I get that hes a glue guy and hes been there for a while and sure you can say it ups his value. Its still too much. Plus you're closer to buffalo now than the top teams in the league .

We got killed this year because of injuries. If we didn't get injuries, we'd have a solid team (lets say we traded for Scandella and traded Reilly anyway)

Tatar - Danault - Gallagher
Drouin - Domi - Suzuki
Lehkonen - Kotkaniemi - Armia
Byron - Thompson - Kovalchuk (Weal, Cousins, Evans)

Chiarot - Weber
Scandella - Petry
Mete - Kulak (Fleury, Folin)

Lindgren

Listen I love the young talent and the center depth is crazy with caufield still to come. It will be better in a couple years for sure. Its still closer to buffalo than Boston or Tampa. Maybe in 2 years when Boston ages a but more and tampa has years of cap issues eroding the talent.

Yea I understand but the only reason we would trade Gally is if ̶h̶e̶ ̶w̶o̶u̶l̶d̶ ̶c̶o̶m̶e̶ ̶b̶a̶c̶k̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶r̶e̶s̶i̶g̶n̶ ̶w̶i̶t̶h̶ ̶M̶T̶L̶ we get a 1st or a good prospect coming back

Truth ↑↑↑

This is more than a FAIR deal for MTL to accept but in terms of Habs weaknesses, isn't fixing any areas of need. Only cluttering up positions we're solid at.

Dickie and Dell def make Fox tradable. And you aren’t wrong about 30 goal scorers. I just feel like this trade makes way more sense for Montreal than it does Dallas. Dru gets to move into the top six. Fox will put up some nice points in a more offensive system with better wingers in Montreal. You get a high end offensive defenseman. And we get Gally. Who may be a 30 goal guy but is also only a 50 point guy. He finishes but doesn’t create much. If we’re trading Klinger we need a forward that can drive his own line. And that ain’t Gally. I don’t care if he “brings it every night” either

Of course, if you dont care about the second team needs, it make sense. Do you want Crosby too?

Might as well shoot for the starts if your only criteria for a trade is what you want to add regardless of the other team's situation...
