Wouldn’t mind Montour back in Anaheim. Anything we could offer to get him back? Not that Murray would even do it...shakes head

Yes but you'd have to beat/tie the offer above

Arizona declines. They likely don't need a defenseman in return for Hjalmarsson, especially not a subpar defenseman like Ristolainen

well no worries cause buff would decline that very fast. Risto is much better and younger

Guhle + 2020 1st BOS squinty smile

If seriously, we need 2C and top 6 RW.

Everything looks about right...except Pilut. With Botts gone they should be overpaying him to come back if he has an out clause, not selling his rights for nothing.

Haha! Montour won’t ever come back but I think he’s better than McCabe and Miller tbh

I would probably do something similar to that for Risto, Flames need a PPQB and Gio can cover for his defensive issues

In fact, Risto was the worst defenseman last year if you look at the matrix. Negative impact both offensively and defensively. I rather have Hjalmarsson than Risto. But only because of his experience and because his contract expires next year. Both were statistically fringe 3rd pairing guys with big contracts

Youd rather have Hjalmarsson (Age: 33 Goals: 1 Assists: 14 +/- -2) rather than risto (Age: 25 Goals: 6 Assists: 27 +/- -2)???????

Not to mention I even combined Hjalmarssons goals and assists from the last two seasons (GP 109) while risto is only at 69 GP. If you ask actual players who play against risto, and not stat guys like you that sit in their basement all day looking at analytics, youd come to find out players hate playing against risto and love playing with him.

Fun thing is; analytics are more objective than players who're on the ice with him. If you score a hattrick while your turnovers and bad defensive coverages are the reason of 4 goals against, people would still talk about the hattrick and how amazing you were while you had a negative impact on the result.

And yes, I'd rather have Hjalmarsson than Risto. Ristolainen has been below average defensively throughout his career and his offensive metrix are declining in both of the last two years and he'd even had a negative impact offensively on the team this year. I'm not saying Hjalmarsson is the better player overall, but he's really good defensively (despite last year, partially because of his injury). He's suited for a 3rd pairing rol nowadays with lots of minutes on the PK. He's experienced, could be a valuable mentor for Dahlin and Jokiharju and his contract expires after next season. With Hjalmarsson, Jokiharju can play 2nd pairing minutes as well
