Lol so off base. All the top teams are up against the cap and TO has zero contracts that couldn't be moved easily

Ruined? Still under the cap and riding the edge of a razor. Dubas and Pridham seem to do a great job.

I am thinking of of Kerfoot, Johnsson or Kap will be moved to save some cap but beyond that I don't think anything will happen until in season.

According to many here, if you are against the cap it's ruined but only if you are the Leafs. Teams who have to shed massive cap or lose good young players are fine, like Tampa. Or teams that have to find a way to move out several bad deals to make room for thier best player in Barzal. Next season is going to be great

Toronto has done fine with the cap. Tampa is screwed because they overvalued their goalie

Those are the real killers, as they have learned those middle 6 guys are often easy to replace when you have a good development system. Overspending on depth kills a franchise. Some teams still only try to find stars and if they don't find them they can't teach any of these other guys how to fit a role.

Tbay's 5 million guys are the only thing I'd praise Dubas for, with the good value 3 million guys he signed.

Kerfoot would be my guess of the three, only because Dubas watched Johnsson and Kappy grew from Marlies to Leafs under his guidance,

Whatever happens in a 5 game series after several months of hiatus will neither prove, or disprove anything i say. The leafs were a mediocre team this season.

Dermott, Hyman, Marner, J.T., Reilly, Mikheyev, Johnsson, Muzzin, Ceci, and Anderson all missing a dozen or more games this season doesn't explain mediocre for you.

I know on Cap Friendly so many think the Leafs have sacrifice so much to get a middling, aging RHD for with two years left on their contracts. I would never trade for that type of player since we don't even know if we're going to have 2020/21 season due to Corvid.
Dubas made his big move last November....two years too late, by convincing Shanahan to fire Babcock.

Just to add, The Leafs were in I believe in 12th place when Shanahan was fired. So with real NHL coaching they improved considerably.

Word. Forgot the leafs were the first team in NHL history to experience injuries.

Dubas next big moves are to sign Dermott and Mikehev to reasonable two year prove me deals each which will virtually ensure a Stanley Cup for Toronto with the current roster. Probably add a UFA extra defenceman as well as an insurance policy.

You know even great Hall of Fame coach like P. Burns has his players quit on him and he gets fired, in fact Burns never lasted more than 3 seasons with the same team. Babcock wasn't the main problem, the babyfaces have to look in the mirror and grow up.

Yes, like the Bruins fans never whine about key injuries stopping their playoff success. Like Cam Neely should be a 4 time Cup winner.

Have i said that? Leave bruins fans in the 90s out of this.

The leafs were mediocre this season. They haven’t been better than mediocre for decades.
