there were a few other really good options, he's the best player on CBJ, so I chose him (also hot takes) and with the LHD I couldn't think of any guys who were just a clear step above, Ekholm, eh, Slavin, after last year, probably, after this year, meh, Gio, same as Slavin etc

I'm personally a big Ekholm guy, but he had a bit of a "meh" year in 2020, with Josi mainly taking the spotlight. Still very underrated to the league, IMO. A candite of mine would be Hedman.
Bjorkstrand really took a big step this year, but I still think he has yet to prove himself as the clear-cut best player. Jones is still quite far ahead, but Bjork's got some potential.

I agree about Ekholm, Hedman was certainly up there in my top 4-5, I strongly disagree about Jones, he is vastly overrated, I would take PLD at least over him, quite easily (and Bjorkstrand) and possibly Werenski or Savard

spare defense, or not hanging out in the neutral zone waiting for linemates to get the puck to him, without certain guys on his line, he wouldn't have put up 50 points

OP heavily relies on defense/complete game. Kane is the worst defensive forward in the league so he isn't there.

IMO offensively, I would have him in the top3 and probably #4 in my RW ranking.
