Their bottom 6 is weak and Neal is bad even strength. Neal got on that insane hot streak in November and hasn’t done anything since.

Leafs are better than Edmonton. Better forwards and better goaltending

Better forwards is kinda a joke right?

I mean...

Miykalev-Tavares-Marner is an excellent 2nd line.

Those three played together for a grand total of 16 minutes this season... try again.

Edmonton’s is better but it’s still a great 2nd line. I wouldn’t say it’s wayyyyy better

Edmonton's 2nd line had the best goal differential per hour of any line in the league.

Johnsson plays on Toronto's 2nd line next to Matthews.

They have Miyk, Hyman, and Matthews who all rotate around. Point is, all 3 of them are better than Ennis

Edmonton is so top heavily get out of here. Remove your bias. I’m not a fan of either team but I can appreciate a deep roster and Edmonton doesn’t have that

Johnsson played over 75% of his 5v5 minutes with Matthews. You don't have a clue what Toronto's lines were, as I pointed out in two previous posts.

Yams also played a very short sample size. I’m still not sold on him. Again, it’s one of the best second lines in the league. Not denying that. But the leafs is up there too

LOL, now you're grasping. The Nugent-Hopkins - Draisaitl - Yamamoto line played together for 317 minutes - that's not a small sample. tears of joy

Forwards - TOR
Defence - EDM
Goalies - Depends on the night

You do realize Edmonton was 27th in the league at 5v5. They are in fact terrible defensively. And they were rather healthy this season as well. This debate is like saying who's better right now between Pittsburgh and Chicago. It's not a debate, the teams are not comparable.

Yams has played 27 games this year. He was excellent in that sample size, so we will see how he does in a full season. He was less productive in the AHL. It wasn’t long ago people were writing him off as a bust

Your only FACTS was your line combos and that’s cause I’m not a leafs fan and don’t know the exact lines.

So does Toronto lol. Both are top heavy in forwards, but EDM has the better blueline.

I am willing to bet EDM is the better team in the playoffs. Toronto can have the regular season lol

Wrong on all accounts, TO has depth and talent all over the lineup and young guys on the way. Edmonton is one of the worst teams in the league defensively, their defence sucks and they have no depth. You are such a clown.

Yea definitely. If it came to a Leafs vs Oilers series, I’d hand it to the Oilers. Leafs aren’t deep enough and they can’t rely on Engvall and a few other rookies to win.

What the **** are you even talking about? Kerfoot, Kap and whoever plays LW vs Gagner and whatever other AHLers are on the 3rd line? Edmonton is a negative team at 5v5. All of their players are. And they'd be taking on the least penalized team in the league. Their goes your offense and now you have to get owned at 5v5 for 4 games. Edmonton is a joke

And better defence. Edmonton had good special teams and that's it.

Forwards- Leafs. The difference here is guys like Kapanen, Johnsson and Kerfoot, the Oilers depth drops off after 97 and 29’s lines.

Defence- I will give Edmonton the edge here. Rielly/Muzzin and Klefbom/Nurse are comparable. The emergence of Bear pushes EDM ahead here.

Goaltending- this is the easiest for me, I like and trust Andersen a lot more than Koskinen. But to be fair Koskinen was really good this year. Realistically it’s probably a toss-up I just really like Andersen

Dude Edmonton has awful depth.

Let’s just say their top 6 is:

AA-McDavid-Kassian
RNH-Drai-Yams

Their third line is
Ennis-Sheehan-Archibald
Both Sheehan and Archibald aren’t third line players.

Toronto’s third line of:
Johnsson-Kerfoot-Kap
Smokes it’s

Edmonton’s third line is probably the worst in the league among playoff teams. At least one of them.

Ennis has had just as good if not a better season then Johnsson. Granted he was getting big minutes in Ottawa he played well in his stint with the Oil so far.

Sheahan vs Kerfoot, again not far off at all. Kerfoot had 1 more goal and plays PP. Sheahan and Archibald combined to form one of the top PK units in the league this year.

Archibald vs Kapanen, pretty even. I feel Kapanen gets perceived better just off name value. Again Archibald only 1 goal less and an elite PKer.

I don’t see a drastic difference in third lines.

I think there is one Oiler player who finished in the plus this season. This myth that that are good defensively is insane.
