If you’re trying to make the trade accurate to Lindros trade it’s gotta be Matthews. Not saying it’s fair, but Forsberg became a hall of famer hart winner, art Ross winner, Calder winner, I don’t see that in Marners career

If you are trying to compare apples to apples (as much as you can), then Forsberg is Matthews. Forsberg was mostly a C, and Marner obviously is not. Forsberg was a 1.25PPG player for his career, while Matthews is just a 1.00PPG player, though I expect that to rise some as he gets a little older. Forsberg was more of a playmaker, while Matthews is a goal scorer. But the comparison is close enough.

Obviously, none of this is going to happen, if you swapped out Matthews for Marner, I think it would infinitely make EDM deeper, and totally destroy TOR's depth and defense. Need to plug it into NHL 2020 and see what happens on the sim.

yeah like obviously it wont happen lol. but if they are trying to make this trade as similar to the Lindros one, matthews would be included.

here's a good video on the Lindros trade if you have time lmfao its quite long.

Forsberg isn't mathews or marner at the time of the trade he was a prospect who hadn't played a game in the league yet. He was a late 1st rounder who was considered a high prospect at trade time but it was still a bit of a risk not knowing what hed become. Saying mathews or marner equals forsberg isn't really correct.

Forsberg wasn't a point a game player when the trade happened. He hadnt played a game yet. He wouldnt have had the same value that mathews or marner have at this second.

Very true. Hindsight makes this much easier as a comparison.
