What does Tyler Johnson cost

Description
Obviously Tampa Bay is in a tough cap situation as they have to resign Sergachev, Cirelli, and Cernak. This has led to many of they're veteran forwards popping up as potential trade candidates (Palat, Gourde, Johnson, Killorn). As a Red Wings fan, I'm interested in Tyler Johnson as the Red Wings need a legitimate 2C until one of our prospects is ready to fill that role and we could likely get him for cheaper than his normal value because of his large contract and Tampa's cap situation. I am aware that Johnson has a full NTC and he will almost for sure not waive for Detroit but in this scenario I'm going to assume that he would. That being said, what does Tyler Johnson cost in a trade? I've seen a crazy amount of variety in a lot of Tampa trades. Some people seem to think that Tampa would have to give up multiple 1sts to get rid of Gourde and Johnson which I personally think is ridiculous but other people are on the complete opposite side and say that Tampa would get a mid-round pick back for Johnson. I'm wondering what other people think about Johnson's trade value. Does Tampa Bay have to give up a pick to get rid of him, or will Tampa get back a pick for him?

To summarize, basically there's been a huge variety of what Tampa's players are worth and I want to know what kind of picks should be going either way if I make a trade for Johnson.

That Bertuzzi contract is making me a little nervous. He's not even close to a bad player, but I would hope we can talk him down a bit from over $5mil.

red wing third. Gourde TB needs to add something. His contract is terrible. On another team he is a solid middle 6 forward and will score 20 goals and be a pest.

On another note,

Would you guys be interested in Domi? And is one of your juicy RHD prospect available?

I agree but still think the cap wall will be used against TB. I love Gourde always gives 110 percent but some guys need to go. Looking at the moves JBB made this year, he wants more grit and size so Tyler and Gourde most logical to move.

I suppose we could consider another 2C. I was more thinking about Johnson since we could get him for cheaper than he's worth. It wouldn't really make sense for Detroit to give up a good pick or prospect as we're still rebuilding.

If buy juicy RHD prospects you mean Seider, not a chance.

I think a 3rd would be the highest we could go. Not sure if we'd do it in real life but I don't want Filppula to be the 2nd best C on our team.

If Tampa attaches a minor asset with him, not much.
Less with no asset.

I think if TB need to clear cap space they'll let him go for a 3rd + Erne.

Tyler has always played very well during the playoffs. Discount last year, they all stunk. The time before he played with a broken hand. If he has a big playoff then I think someone well step up and offer a second. . If not a third might get it.

I agree that if he plays well he could get a 2nd. If it starts to get that high I think the Red Wings will be out as we're still rebuilding and won't give up that high a pick. We might target a fringe top 6 guy in free agency like Galchenyuk or Granlund but I'm not sure if either of them would come to Detroit.

On another note what would Derek Stepan be worth? He has 1 year left at 6.5 mil and has really gone down in production over the last couple years. Arizona only has 1.5 mil in cap space next year and will want to resign Hall. Would the Coyotes pay to get off his contract or would he be another guy with positive value?

Tyler Johnson does nothing for Detroit. He'll be long gone by the time they're back to competing. Tampa would have to pay Detroit future assets to take him
