some new some repeat

Description
The Rangers core and prospects are already firmly in place.

If we trade anyone or anything (Strome/Georgiev/prospects/picks) we should be getting roster players back in places where we need to fill holes. We do not need a 1st for Strome or a 2nd+prospect for Georgiev, etc, etc...unless they come packaged with a roster player.

Terry is basically Jesper Fast but plays Center and is younger and way more cost controlled. Perfect 4th line center. + a 2nd next year (It will still be a top 35 pick) = appropriate value. I would prefer 2nd this year, but could see ANA laughing at that offer/request. (As for whether ANA thinks a player like Strome (top 6 C/W) fits/is needed on their team for the next 5 years, I cannot speak to).

Smith is cheaper (real money) than Anisimov, and OTT gets their 4th back for it.

I think Mangiapane is awesome. Perfect middle 6 winger. Solid offense, but very disciplined too. Can play all situations well. From NYR perspective, this is a fair 1:1 swap (I think some NYR fans will say it's an overpay, and some CGY fans will say it's lopsided for NYR, but I think it's pretty fair).

If you still have assets leftover that you don't think fit into the team long term, AND all your roster slots are figured out, then those assets can be traded for picks (Howden, Andersson, Rykov, etc).

ANA is laughing at this offer too. Terry doesn’t play C. He’s not a 4th liner and the ducks don’t need another middle 6 fwd. They pass.

Appreciate the insight on Terry being a Wing not a C. I just looked deeper at his stats and saw that. I haven't watched them play, so I was going strictly by TOI and pts: looked like a bottom 6 player to me. Strome also isn't a middle 6 player, he is a top 6 player, but as I said: I don't know what ANA 5 year outlook is, so if they don't have a need/spot for him, that's fine.

No thanks from CGY. There are better ways to get a goalie than to trade a budding top 6 forward.

Mangiapane was on a similar level to Buchnevich this year. No chance

Kings would say Yes, Ducks would say No for the reasons stated by my colleague @Jah1722 . This year at center Anaheim has Getzlaf, Henrique, Steel and Backes with the prospect of Trevor Zegras breaking in, and Isac Lundestrom and Benoit-Olivier Groulx in the wings. Next year should be Zegras' first, so Strome doesn't fit in to our long-term plans.
