I’d do that trade but I think Wilson is stupid and won’t cause he wants to prove he was smart for signing Karlsson to that contract

$11.5M contract for a 30 year old for the next 7 years (until he's 38) who has been injured the last two years and not looking nearly like himself. He is not going to age well IMO.

Keith is still very good and holding up well, Seabs has 4 more years left and the last two years I'm betting gets bought out or he retires.

I watch a ton of the Sharks since I'm in california and watch the late games....Karlsson does not look like himself. Those that don't watch him play a lot, won't see that. That said, the value is good on paper, I just don't want to deal with a $11.5M dealing with nagging injuries and signed until he turns 38.

Just because there is value in a trade on paper and cap hits, it doesn't always mean it's a good one on ice for the team especially long term. Hawks need to keep working on developing Boqvist and Mitchell on the right side...that is a strong 1st and 2nd line options on the right side both for under $2M cap hit. Then you have Murphy and Seabs...that's 4 players on the right less then Karlsson's cap hit.

Ya I knew that was going to be a terrible signing. He can't skate like he used to and sucks defensively

Well I would if I was San Jose. You're pretty much trading one bad contract for two. But the two have less years left on the deal. Karlsson could be worth it for Chicago if he can get his play back. Toews and Kane are getting older might as well try it. Either way I was just trying to make a trade that I found interesting

Karlsson is damaged goods and buyer beware. Would not touch him in a trade.
