That’s a lot of money for Kubalik. 30 goals is awesome but I worry about the lack of assists. He might do fine in Carolina as y’all have the players to support him, but I feel like it’s a gamble. I’d honestly keep Pesce. Especially since I think Lehner is going to cost you more. I really think Cernak might get an offer sheet like that right at the top of the second round pick comp range. Not sure why the Canes would do it though. I don’t think that gets you Ehlers. As a Stars fan I’d be interested in Reimer, Nino, and maybe Gardiner (only fits if we are moving a lefty or two out). Not so much McGinn. I’d rather keep Dobby than give up a pick for Reimer, but if somebody offers Dobby more than we’re willing to give I really like Reimer and would be all over this. Some cool ideas

If, IF, Pesce was ever traded:
A. Why trade him in the division
B. Why not trade him for offense *cough* Nylander *cough* versus trading for more defense then offer sheet a winger?

Isles say no. Pulock is better than Pesce and we'll find a way to keep him.

100% true. Only way they lose him is if offersheets start flying on Barzal and pulock. With a flat cap I don’t really think they will.

I think it will be very difficult to move MAF contract and thus Lehner not likely going to resign for a tandem role, plus you will have to move out some quality players to get under the cap

Kubalik drove play just fine, I wouldn't worry about him at all

Isles decline. Pulock's slapshot could make it to the moon. Can't see the isles swapping him. They'll find a way to get a guy on LTIR if needed. Car would love him though.

If the Isles have to lose Pulock to keep Barzal, Pesce would be a great consolation prize...

I'm not saying Pesce is better. However if the Isles need to free up some cap to keep Barzal and cannot keep both, Pesce would be a perfect replacement for Pulock. Hurricanes could then move on from Hamilton after 20-21.

A. Do right by Pesce and send him home to New York. Also, we have traded in the division already and the FO said they do not care about divisional trades. Also we are getting a great player.
B. I wouldn't mind trading him for some offense, however this is an outside the box idea that works better IMO. Also, Nylander is not a Brind'amour type player.

Oh I understand, never thought you thought that. I just would rather keep Pulock and pay him more. We'll find ways of getting cap space.

Basically, if Ladd does end up on Robidas Island, all we need to do is trade Leddy for picks.
