people on this thread are ridiculous. Johansson is not a cp dump and is worth more than that package. Montour is more than Virt straight up much less adding beagle and Cirelli is not worth 8oa. He is a great 3c on a great team I dont think he would be a great 2c on a mediocre team.

I agree Johansson is not a cap dump. He's a good player, effective. However he is definitely overpaid when you look at what he produces. He's also not a top-line player.
Montreal already has a lot of players that are middle-line people (2nd-3rd lines). We already have enough money/people tied up in those lines with Armia/Drouin/Lehkonen/Danault/Domi/KK/Byron/Suzuki. That's 8 players for 6 spots. We don't need to add a 9th. We need either a top-line goalscorer or Dman. The more we add to the middle the more problems we'll have.

For what it's worth I like Johansson and I'd like to give him a shot (if incentive was added to the trade because of his salary), but I'd then move two of those other players above, preferably Byron and Lehkonen. I hope Armia/Drouin and Domi stay a while longer and the others I want to see long term with the CH.
