Yes, but Ellis and his contract is work more than Marner and his contract, and I bet Nashville would expect them to pay a premium for D.

But like... what's the criticism/the point of criticizing a post that I explicitly stated was for fun and not a realistic attempt at anything. In no way was I expressing that I think the Leafs should ever do this or that it would be a good idea or that it would ever have a chance of happening- was just fooling around. So, I mean, I guess criticize away, that's your right when I post on here, I suppose. But considering that this doesn't reflect my ideologies or opinions regarding the team, it just seemed a bit misplaced or perhaps a little intense considering the context of the post?

No, I think both contracts were overpayments. Ellis was payed 6 mil for 8 years, when he will be 38. Marner is just entering the prime of his career and I think you would have to add a bit to Ellis to get Marner.
