Cirelli for 3.5 million would be highway robbery. His agent should be fired for not pursuing millions more in an offer sheet.

Kings aren't trading the #35 overall pick this year, even if it return Sergachev.

Because that 35OA is guaranteed to be better than Sergachev?

You do know how old Sergachev is, right?

I'm scratching my head over that comment. Maybe it's a joke? It has to be, right?

Maybe I’d do Kupari. Clague. And VGK 2nd. Instead of the LA 2nd. If LA gets Sergachev it pretty much makes clague expendable.
So the LD would be Sergachev. Bjornfot. Anderson. In any order. I’d take that.

That's a solid idea. If TB wanted that early second for Sergachev though then it should definitely happen. That's a cornerstone piece for an organization that has some good players on the way.

Kings picked up a guy who was supposed to be a top 10-15 pick in Kaliyev (before he got overblown red flags plastered on him) with an early 2nd last year. I’m sure Yannetti is looking to do something similar again this year.

That's fair, but we are also talking about a kid who has been tied to the 3rd pair for most of his short nhl career while putting 30-40+ seasons. He's just waiting to blow up into a 50+ point defenseman. As much as a love Bjornfot and Anderson(Kings future top 4 LD) Blake would be moronic to turn this down if this was the real asking price for Sergachev.

@KINGS67 If the real asking price was Kupari and two 2nds, one of them being 35OA even in a draft this deep, you'd think twice about giving that up for Sergachev? Not only is Sergachev a 40+ point defenseman, but he is also ALL HEART AND SOUL, like Drew Doughty. I think Sergachev is worth significantly more than this offer and Tampa would be better off letting a team offer sheet him, but if this is what Tampa came to LA asked this for Sergachev, LA accept 1M times over.

I do realize exactly how old Sergachev is. I also realize that he's at the end of his ELC, is going to get a hefty raise this summer, and plays a position at which the Kings are already pretty solid.

As far as I'm concerned the #2 overall, #35 overall, and the 2021 1st round pick from next year are off the table in any trades, unless the Kings are somehow moving up in the draft. I'd rather they keep building from within than giving up quality pieces to bring in "win now" players. That #35 pick is going to bring in a quality player, and that player is going to be on an ELC for 3-5 years rather than getting paid $6M+ immediately.

I'd pass on this trade as listed.

There's nothing "win now" about picking up a very good #2 young LD. Especially at that cost. Who says he will demand 6M+? I don't get the feeling that he is a greedy player that's going to demand more than what he is worth right now. There's no guarentee the 35OA pick will ever make the NHL and if you can acquire a kid like Sergachev for that cost and decline the offer you should be fired. I can't believe that's even something to think about for you.

Btw, the Kings are rumored to be considering trading up for a late 1st round pick this draft.

Evolving Hockey lists the highest probability contract that Sergachev will get at 8 years, $6.5M AAV (32%).

There's are no guarantees related to anything in hockey. The best chance you have at getting an NHL caliber prospect is to have more high-quality prospects. Yannetti said at the draft last year when talking about the #33 pick that they used to draft Kaliyev that it's one of the best picks in the draft. You get all the GMs that are afraid to use their top pick on someone that a bunch of teams have passed on, so you get high quality guys that fall out of the 1st round, leaving those at the top of the 2nd round with some easy choices. That's not a pick you want to trade, especially for LHD. If it was for a high-quality 22-year old LW, then I'd be more willing to consider it.

If the Kings can move up into the first round, that's great, but that's not really something that can happen until draft day. GMs will see who falls and who rises, and will make moves accordingly. If Blake sees a guy that they have ranked around 15 still on the board in the low 20s, then I can see Blake pulling the trigger on a trade to move up. However, any rumor saying the Kings will pull the trigger to move up prior to the draft is BS. If they're suggesting that the Kings might look to move up on draft day, then that's hardly a revelation.

Big no from Colorado. 3 years of an ELC player capable of playing on the 3rd line is extremely valuable in this cap league.
