Buffalo says no
And if u guys get Lafreniere that would be such BS
Leave it to the NHL to continually be dumb though

Okay then, if that's the case then what do you have to say about Edmonton, besides 2017, they haven't had a pick below 10 since 2008. Is that rigged? Also, 3 1st overall picks back to back to back.

I feel like I’m telling you Santa isn’t real or that there is no tooth fairy. Oh buddy the penguins win that draft fair and square smile

Not really? This isn’t like the Pens are walking in with a 0.1% odds at Laf and winning. Every team has the same odds so it’s impossible to truly call it rigged.

Also we’re calling draft lotteries rigged in the Pens’ favour as if 2004 didn’t happen.

bruh the league rigged the 2017 lottery for flyers and the 2018 for the canes

The lottery isn't rigged it was just a stupid system the league set up for the lottery this year. Lots of people are going to be upset because a "playoff" team will be picking first overall. The lottery should have excluded the teams in the qualifying round or at least waited until after the qualifying round to draw and there would be a lot less angst.

Murray should be worth more than a 2nd. The cheaper price on Murray is to include JJ in the trade

Coming off a very bad season, flat cap, upcoming expansion draft, and there are lots of goalies floating around. He's had a decent, but not great, run so far in the playoffs to help his regain the value of the 2 Cups he's won.

2 of the last 3 seasons he's had .907 and .899 sv% and bad adv stats. So it's hard to call it a fluke or just a down year. I also don't see much of a market for him to drive up prices and goalies have a depressed trade value to begin with.

Idk why u included me?
Never said anything about it being rigged

But it would be BS if the Pens won it bc they finished with the 7th best record overall
And no team that good should have a shot at picking 1st

Kaprizov hasn't even played a game and you're already giving him 7 million lmfao jeez.

Yes. If we want to keep him long term we're going to have to pay him a boat load of money, otherwise he'll just walk

I still think teams are gonna value his playoff experience. I guess we will see what his value is. I wouldn’t be shocked if a team overpaid for him. It happens all the time.

If he ends up being only a 50 point player then you’re not gonna have to pay him all this money lol

I'm not disagreeing with any of this. We'll see is the best response because there's so much uncertainty right now. Bad Goalie Market in general. More goalies out there than positions available. The fall back plan for Murray is arbitration which will 100% consider his playoff experience. Tough spot to be in. Whatever PIT can get for either of their goalies...they should take the best offer whatever it is.

Sure but we only have 1 season to determine that. He's still an RFA after his ELC expires but I think we only have another couple years after that before he's a UFA. Long story short, I think the organization is planning to have to pay him a lot and whether or not he ends up being worth that amount it's still in the plans. Making this trade scraps that.

Given how everything has gone this year, it wouldn't surprise me at all if PIT got Lafreniere.

As for the Murray deal, it makes sense, but not with MIN, as they don't have the space.

Oh, actually: if MIN sent back Dubnyk, it could work; that would mean you can void the Khudobin signing. You could Dubnyk as the backup for a year, and we could use Stalock or Kahkonen to back up Murray.

pens need to trade Murray to shed cap. taking Dubnyk eliminates that
