It may be that the wise play for Holland and Tippett is to remain focused on the deficiencies that were apparent before that lackluster effort against Chicago. Work on moving Kris Russell, try to find a real 3C, work on signing Puljujarvi, and find an upgrade over Mike Smith. The defense was very disappointing during the play in series but I don't think it is wise to blow things up on the blue line. i think trading either Nurse or Larsson should net a nice return that can address other roster issues. Letting both go during this upcoming off season would probably be too much to recover from though.

Um, you're working from this year's rosters. After the playoffs are over, and the free agent period starts, Holtby will be one, and you can just sign him to a new contract.
