So Boston is just going to take Boychuk and his $6 million hit for nothing? LOL that's not happening. Maybe retain 50% and take John Moore back in a deal.

Can I get an explanation as to the why? Since you're the Islanders fan here, I'd like to hear the reasoning behind this big time change.

The Jets won't have any interest in moving Heinola. Just build your offer for Connor on his own.

I don't think there is a viable one. Minus the return for Leddy not sure any of these make a ton of sense

There's no way the Jets are adding Heinola to that deal, Bellows has been underwhelming and Addams adds no value to the deal.

NYI wouldn't do the first three deals and the other teams won't do the last three deals.

How is TO going to fit Komarov when they themselves are tight against the cap?

Well Johnny B has only a few more years left in in. So retaining salary is possililty with the other moves maybe not 50% but 30-40%.
Figured Bruins fans adore him still and he loved the city so why not send him somewhere he loved to finish his career.

Draft capital is huge for Isles going into new arena and we do not have it at the moment. Also thinking in the past with the Tavares situation. Barzal may want to get up and out west as soon as he can so why not get what you can for him. as for the other trades. Not having Barzy is a huge loss for the now so other shake ups were needed.

But, why now? You hold all the cards when he's an RFA. Yes, maybe when he's getting to UFA, explore the trade market, but he's so young right now. As I see it, you're a contending team RIGHT NOW. There's no reason to shake things up by trading your best defenseman and forward to go into a rebuild. There's a reason Lou traded that 1st for Pageau. He sees that the window to compete is open and he's going for it. No need to acquire draft capital this way.

Boychuk at this point would be on Boston's 3rd pairing. Boston isn't going to add a 3rd pairing d-man for $3.6 to $4.2 million unless you're taking a bad contract back or giving up a solid asset.

I actually like the trade if it gets rid of all the Bracco trades. All kidding aside, the Leafs trade Johnnson for a pick and no cap issues. Still need to worry about the D but it works.

Except Komarov is not NHL worthy anymore.

Kings are not going to trade that for Barzal. They are in no position to give up that many assets at this time.

I wouldn’t do this as a kings fan. Would rather have the more cost controlled players and see what they have in them first.

Except Komarov is still in the NHL playing 12 minutes a night. I must admit I didn’t realize he was still getting so much money. Maybe if they retained some?
