We want Cirelli you have no cap space

Created by: OutCold13
Team: 2020-21 Tampa Bay Lightning
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 18, 2020
Published: Aug. 18, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
So full disclosure I'm a Wild fan trying to make a workable deal to get Cirelli. I did it from the lightning side so they could get a good look at what the team could look like.
I think this is still a cup team and you get to restock a bit.

Can we talk about Boldy? How's he looking?

If the Wild are giving up Dumba I'd imagine Boldy is off the table. Beckman is nothing to scoff at though, he led the WHL in scoring in his draft+1 year and was the WHL player of the year (outscored Dylan Cozens who you may or may not know went 6th overall in the same draft).

I think the Bolts need to add a pick or two. Cirelli is great, but Dumba for Cirelli is pretty fair (maybe a trade in the Wild's favor) but we're taking care of Tampa's cap hell and giving them a great prospect

I mostly agree but Johnson doesn't suck even though Wild are taking care of Tampa cap problems I still am ok with this deal as is.

Don't be greedy...

Besides we already have Addison in the fold, plus Menell and Belpedio, we don't need another rhd defenseman.

So what does Tampa do the following year with no cap increase?

For the reasons @TanSor I don't think I would move him in this deal. He had a slow start at BC but came on strong at the end of the season. Expect a big year out of him whenever college picks up again.

Unless they want prospects there isn't much that can be done.

Killorn is yet another LW which Wild really don't need so Johnson is a better fit and i think he waives to play with his old buddy Spurgeon. Don't know much about Foote and Volkov so I need more info.

Valid point, but they are all unproven at the NHL level. Plus, a franchise can never have too many RHDs (or centers or goalies).

I think they’d want blue chip prospects, players on valuable contracts, or high-end picks. The Hronek for Sergachev trade has been discussed a few times but does it make sense in this situation where the main piece back in the Minnesota trade is Dumba? It’s hard because Tampa has a few NTC/NMC. Maybe, something like (and I’m spit balling here) Cirelli for Kaprizov assuming he’s cost controlled for a couple years (not sure off the top of my head his contract).

Kaprizov is only cost controlled for 1 year the whole covid situation really screwed the Wild on that deal. He will get a big deal next summer.

I'd rather have Hronek and the 2nd.

Same, I’d offer to take on Gourde if it lower the asking price on Sergachev and/or Cirelli.

Pass, hronek is already just as good if not better then serg and no need to take on a 53 year old winger for a rebuilding team. Also giving up the 2nd which is a late first is a bad idea. Total pass

Killorn not going to have DET on the no trade list? He's got a 16 team mNTC for next season.

At this point I wouldn't trade Hronek for Sergachev straight up.

I have doubts that Tampa would want Staal in the trade, but if he was part of it he wouldn't be their 2C. Tampa would also decline the Detroit trade, as Serg is not on the trade block. If the Minnesota trade took place, Tampa probably moves Killorn and Paquette for picks. Stephens and Verhaeghe will also get less on a 1 year deal more than likely, and Foote is likely the 3RD next to Serg. With the savings on Paquette, Stephens and Verhaeghe plus not taking Staal, Tampa could re-sign Serg and Maroon, and if they move Cernak plus a pick for Rakell at 50%, Tampa addresses the F loss nicely.

If the Wild would add Greenway depending on contract negotiations, Tampa might be interested there. Just not sure if a 36 year old Staal would be a player Tampa would seek in this trade. Maybe Cirelli, Johnson and Katchouk for Dumba(1 mil retained), Donato(950k retained), Greenway, Hunt and Beckman. Tampa also has to think about the exp draft, so if they trade for Dumba and keep Serg and Cernak, that's 6 Dmen they'd have to consider, which means a likely more costly deal with Seattle to not take any of Hedman, Serg. Dumba, McD, Cernak or Foote.
