Isles say yes to the MIN deal. Great for both teams.

Isles say no to the MTL. No reason for them to do that.

Senators say no to their deal. Not enough incentive for them and I can't see Boychuk waiving his NTC to go to Ottawa.

Minnesota is a maybe, think theyre done with Donato but dont see where leo fits in lineup.

MTL says no, they are high on caufield and can probably fill the LHD hole in free agency also think the isles like toews.

Boychuk + first to dump is pretty fair already dont need the extra pieces but you arent getting a second back for it.

Pulock is way better, Toews is #2. I know some people don't respect and underrate Devon Toews but to not consider trading him for a 30G scorer is being a homer. I wouldn't trade away Toews for Caufield either and I'm a Habs fan but it's only because Caufield hasn't established himself as said 30G scorer. Assuming it was Gallagher for Toews (and Gallagher is signed longer term), I wouldn't trade him for Toews.

It’s close, but toews is better. Just because you score 30 goals doesn’t mean you’re elite. I would trade toews for Gallagher if he was younger and had term, but that’s because Gallagher is elite.

Gallagher only has elite work ethic and being a pest. His goals are all garbage man goals but because he is amazing at fighting in the dirty areas. If he wasn't battling he would score ~10 goals. He's not an elite goal scorer.

He is an elite goal scorer, it doesn’t matter how he scores his goals. Go look at his advanced stats.

Advanced stats aren't everything. That's why Montreal isn't a top 5 team. Their advanced stats are really good but they don't have the pure skill to actually capitalize.

Montreal is a great 5 v 5 team and their top 4 D core is solid. They are good in terms of expected goals and driving play. The reason why montreal wasn’t a top 5 team in the regular season is because price was terrible and they lack shooting talent. That doesn’t take away from the fact that Gallagher is an elite player.

xGA/60 = T-10th Sv% = 18th actual GA/60 = 19th

Gally shooting 7% on unblocked shots. Once again, elite work ethic and puck battling. Not an elite shot. He's a solid player and I love him on the Habs but he's not elite.

You probably disagree so we can agree to disagree in that case.
