Why would Detroit accept this trade ?

At least a 1st pick has to be sent to Detroit.

Note: Pacioretty was worth Tatar, Suzuki (1st pick the year prior to the trade) and a 2nd round. Now compare Pacio to Mantha and ask yourself if what you're offering is equal or better to what we received for Pacioretty.

Mantha has accomplished 10% of what Pacioretty had when he got that return.... terrible comparison

Pacioretty is not even worth Suzuki alone today. Vegas got ROBBED. That's first of all.

And second of all, that was the rumour I read somewhere, exactly that. Just wanted to have people debate it. So I see you don't agree. But if there's a 1st round pick, then no, Domi has produced 72 points last year. That'd be too much. No deal then, I agree. But if you are even trying to compare Mantha to Pacioretty, or even more ridiculous, Suzuki, then you've got yourself a dead deal. Keep your messiah Mantha.

It's not even my suggestion, as you can see in the title. Who gives a siht. You want to decline? Fine, one denial, and that's ok. We hang up, go our separate ways, and you keep shining Red Wings, with Mantha.
Have you read his stats compared to Domi? 72 points Domi last season. Mantha? Never had 50. 28 goals Domi last season? Mantha has never scored more than 25. Domi is a Center; we have too much, you don't have enough. If you see Mantha as a God figure in Detroit, ok, sure, keep him, no problem. Jeeezzuusss. It's not as if I've asked more than once? Only once for crying out loud and you're protecting that guy as though he's a God hahaha. Sooooo susceptible.

Hey friend, it seems we cannot even mention Mantha in any type of trade, even just for fun. It seems Wings fans think we're raping their grandmothers if we do, or something like that. They would want Domi, Suzuki, KK, 5 first-round picks, 7 second round picks for even thinking about giving up Golden-Boy-Mantha. I say keep him. They were doing just fine as it was.

Domi shot nearly 60% higher than his career average during that 72 point season. He also had 44 points in 71 games this season while still shooting above career average which prorated to 50.8 points. I’d wager he had a statistical outlier season. While Mantha over his last 82 games has 30G and 42A so the same as Domi’s outlier season but let’s continue with this never had a 50pt season narrative. People may seem hostile because in the last week there’s probably been about 100 ACGMs about Mantha to Montreal based on a Montreal Athletic writer wanting size and scoring to Montreal.

All great points my friend. I hear you. And yes, I think that it's also the fun aspect of doing this ACGM stuff; people read something suggested and come "test it out" here. Basically, it's just to see how it fits in the lineup and salary cap. Publishing it is not even a big part of it to be honest. But you raise good points for sure. Either way though, the fact that you mention that article from The Athletic means that you actually DO understand why suddenly people are just trying this out lol.
    Cheers mate!
