And even then, Kerfoot/Dermott doesn't address what we really need: top-6 forwards, particularly a 2C.

If we get this offer. I know we need a 2c. But an expiring Savard is worth this offer. We can move Dermott and keep kerfoot as a stopgap 2c either our young guys can play or until we make a trade. I love Savard but I don’t think his value as a rental is this high to get a 2c by himself. We’d need to package him with Andy and maybe a goalie. Which I’m fine with but this trade is fair

But you've just hit on why Savard doesn't get moved in a deal like this. Jarmo needs him as an asset to package with Andy and/or Korpi. Trading him for this undercuts our ability to make the trade we really need to make.
